Beyond improving meals, housing, and working conditions for Trade Union (TU) members, TUs at all levels and the business community in Dong Nai are paying special attention to the children of workers and laborers, who represent the country's future generation.

Scholarships, skill-building classes, and summer recreational activities are becoming the "seeds" that nurture dreams and motivate these children to continue pursuing their educational journey.

Empowering dreams of workers' children

Among the 70 students, children of workers facing difficult circumstances yet achieving outstanding academic results, who were recently honored by the grassroots TU of Dona Pacific (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. (Binh Minh Commune), Nguyen Thi Minh Anh, a 6th-grade student, expressed her joy. For many, the award recognizes academic achievement. For her family, where both parents are employees of the company, it serves as a significant source of encouragement. "The gift helps me buy more books and school supplies. More importantly, it makes me feel cared for and encourages me to work even harder in my studies," said Minh Anh.

Dang Thi Thom, Chairwoman of the grassroots TU of Dona Pacific (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., said that, for many years, alongside representing and protecting the lawful and legitimate rights and interests of TU members, the grassroots TU has implemented various programs for workers' children, including scholarship awards, recognition of children receiving the “Excellent Academic Performance and Good Conduct” title, and the organization of gift presentations and recreational activities. During the 2025-2026 school year alone, more than 3,500 children of company employees achieved good or excellent academic results. The grassroots TU recognized 110 students for their academic performance during the school year and awarded 70 scholarships. Each scholarship reflects the TU's commitment to supporting workers and their families.

Olam Vietnam Limited - Long Binh Branch, together with the Executive Committee of its grassroots TU, also recently awarded scholarships to more than 210 children of workers who achieved good academic results during the 2025-2026 school year. This is the fourth consecutive year the company has organized the scholarship program. To date, nearly 700 children have received scholarships totaling nearly VND 2.1 billion. In 2026 alone, the number of scholarships increased by 16%, with a total value reaching VND 615 million.

Ha Thu Trang, who has worked at Olam Vietnam Limited for three years, said she felt happy and deeply moved as she accompanied her child to the workplace to receive the scholarship. "This is timely support that encourages the children while helping ease the burden of education expenses for workers' families. This enables workers to reduce financial pressure, feel secure in working with the company, and focus on production," said Thu Trang.

Pou Chen Vietnam Enterprise Ltd (Bien Hoa Ward) also recently awarded 100 "Nurturing Dreams" scholarships, each worth VND 2 million, to students who have overcome difficulties while maintaining strong academic performance. The humanitarian program has been maintained for many years. Notably, many former scholarship recipients have gone on to become university students, while some have returned to work at the very factory where their parents once worked. These stories demonstrate the lasting value of investing in education and affirm that timely support gives children greater opportunities to shape their future through their own efforts.

Promoting spirit of learning

In reality, most workers in industrial parks still earn limited incomes. Rent, daily living expenses, and the cost of their children's education place constant pressure on many families. As a result, some workers' children still lack adequate learning conditions and opportunities to receive care and encouragement. Against this backdrop, support from businesses and the TU has provided these children with better conditions to continue their education and nurture their dreams of attending university.

In addition to educational support, many grassroots TUs coordinate with businesses to create a comprehensive development environment for workers' children through cultural and sports activities, experiential programs, and visits to the factories where their parents work. These activities provide opportunities for children to develop independence, communication skills, a spirit of sharing, and a sense of community, which are valuable assets for the future.

An increasing number of businesses are also joining the TU in caring for workers' children. Through education promotion funds, scholarships, and support for families raising young children, these practical initiatives not only help ease the burden on workers' families but also strengthen children's confidence and motivation as they continue their educational journey. Every act of support today contributes to developing the future workforce.

Le Tran Khanh Son, Chairman of the grassroots TU of Vietnam Dona Orient Co., Ltd. (Binh Minh Commune), said that the TU and the company recently recognized more than 100 students who received the “Excellent Academic Performance and Good Conduct” title at various grade levels, together with nearly 3,500 students who achieved good or excellent academic results during the 2025-2026 school year. The program helps promote the tradition of learning while strengthening the bond between TU organizations, TU members, and businesses.

When workers' children have better opportunities to study, build their skills, and develop in a well-rounded manner, TU members' and workers' trust in the TU is further strengthened. Therefore, the TU's efforts to care for workers extend beyond protecting their lawful and legitimate rights and interests today. They also represent an investment in the future by supporting workers' children and helping their dreams take flight.

The care and support provided by the TU and businesses through practical activities are helping lay a foundation for a sustainable future for workers' children. Throughout this journey, the TU continues to accompany them, serving as a reliable source of support for their comprehensive development. This initiative also provides an important foundation for building a stable workforce, contributing to the sustainable development of businesses and the locality.
