These practical activities not only contribute to promoting local economic development but also reflect employees’ sense of responsibility, trust, and expectations for the city’s new stage of development.

Emulation movements energize businesses

Dong Nai currently has more than 1.4 million employees. Across industrial zones, labor emulation movements are flourishing at many factories and enterprises. Businesses have launched campaigns to boost productivity, improve technical processes, and ensure occupational safety to mark the important event of Dong Nai City. Many production lines have maintained high efficiency, surpassing assigned targets. In addition to pursuing growth objectives, enterprises are also paying attention to ensuring safe working conditions and taking care of employees’ welfare.

Nguyen Tan Hung, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union at Cibao Co., Ltd. in Binh Loc ward, said that the company currently has nearly 6,000 employees working in its production workshops. Since the beginning of 2026, the company’s production and business activities have recorded many positive developments, with orders increasing steadily, thereby ensuring stable jobs and incomes for workers. This undertaking has become an important factor in helping employees feel secure in their long-term commitment to the company, while also creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere across production lines.

The enthusiastic working spirit of workers is creating new momentum for development, contributing to building an increasingly civilized, modern, and sustainably developing Dong Nai. This endeavor also provides employees with an opportunity to affirm their role in the overall development of Dong Nai City.

According to Hung, to boost production, the grassroots trade union has coordinated with the company’s leadership to launch various creative labor emulation movements, encouraging workers to propose technical improvement initiatives, enhance their skills, and raise labor productivity. The working atmosphere in the workshops is always urgent and bustling, with many teams and groups of workers registering to exceed production targets, helping the company keep its signed orders on schedule.

“To celebrate Dong Nai City entering a new stage of development, the company has launched many practical emulation movements, including excellent employees and creative employees, technical improvement, raw material savings, and occupational safety assurance. Through these movements, workers not only improve their incomes but also contribute to helping the company fulfill its 2026 production and business plan,” Hung said.

At Vietnam Dona Standard Footwear Co., Ltd. in Xuan Hoa commune, workers are bustling with labor and production emulation in every workshop. Tran Phuong Giai, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union, said that, in response to the theme of Workers’ Month 2026, “Vietnamese Workers: Innovation and Creativity, Enhanced Labour Productivity,” the grassroots trade union has renewed its activities, focusing on caring for union members and workers across the company. In addition, welfare, cultural, and sports activities, as well as emulation movements, are being actively promoted and receiving positive responses from union members and workers.

The responsible, united, and proactive spirit of creativity among workers is regarded as an important factor in helping businesses maintain stable production amid workforce shortages. Enterprises have organized programs to commend skilled employees and employees with innovative initiatives, while providing timely rewards to motivate the workforce. Many small-scale initiatives applied by workers in production have delivered practical results, contributing to the development of a dynamic and creative working environment within enterprises.

Contributing to building a new urban landscape

Over recent days, many workers across the city have simultaneously changed their personal Facebook profile pictures with frames, icons, and messages celebrating Dong Nai’s recognition as a city. Although simple, the activity reflects the joy, excitement, and pride of employees as the city enters a new stage of development.

On social media platforms, many workers have also shared images of their workplaces, rental housing areas, clean, well-decorated streets adorned with flags and flowers, and the bustling atmosphere in industrial zones, accompanied by positive messages and expectations for an increasingly modern, civilized, and developed Dong Nai. The vibrant response has helped spread the spirit of solidarity, confidence, and union members' and employees' aspirations for the city’s new stage of development.

Le Van Sy, a worker at Pou Chen Vietnam Enterprise Ltd. in Bien Hoa ward, said that since April 30, he has changed his personal profile picture to celebrate Dong Nai’s official recognition as a city. According to Sy, changing his profile picture is not only a way to join the celebration of the city’s major event but also to express his attachment to the place where he lives, works, and builds his career. “I want to make a small contribution to promoting the image of a dynamic, friendly, and potential-rich Dong Nai to friends and relatives on social media,” Sy shared.

According to Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai City Federation of Labor, Dong Nai's status as a city is expected to open new development space for the city in the coming period. In that process, the workforce will continue to play an important role as the direct force generating production value and contributing to economic growth. Labor and production emulation movements not only celebrate major events but also reflect the aspirations of the workforce in the era of industrialization and modernization.

Trade unions at all levels in Dong Nai are stepping up communication efforts and mobilizing union members to actively respond to patriotic emulation movements, linking production activities with the locality’s socio-economic development goals. Many emulation models associated with digital transformation, green production, and environmental protection are being widely implemented at enterprises. As a result, they have created an upbeat and lively atmosphere in factories across Dong Nai.
