It is expected that three railway lines will be developed, including the North–South high-speed railway, the Thu Thiem–Long Thanh railway, and the extension of the Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien metro line to Dong Nai City’s administrative center and Long Thanh International Airport. These projects will be built along the reserved land between the airport’s main access roads, with stations providing access to the airport’s passenger terminals.

Regarding the North–South high-speed railway project, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has signed an agreement with the Railway Project Management Board under the Ministry of Construction on the route alignment, station locations, and connectivity plans.

Regarding the two metro projects – the Thu Thiem–Long Thanh line and the extension of the Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien line to Dong Nai City’s administrative center and Long Thanh International Airport – during the on-site inspection and the working session, Dong Nai City and Ho Chi Minh City largely agreed on the route alignment plans of the two projects for the section from National Highway 51 to the terminal area within Long Thanh International Airport.

Accordingly, the extension of the Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien metro line to Dong Nai City’s administrative center and Long Thanh International Airport, to be invested in by Dong Nai City, will run on the left side of the T1 route in the direction from National Highway 51 to Long Thanh International Airport, connecting to the terminal area within the airport.

Meanwhile, the Thu Thiem–Long Thanh metro line will run along the right side of the T1 route in the direction from National Highway 51 to Long Thanh International Airport, connecting to the terminal area within the airport.

At the working session, Ho Van Ha, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People’s Committee, said that Dong Nai City’s aim in investing in the extension of the Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien metro line to Dong Nai City’s administrative center and Long Thanh International Airport is to establish a through metro connection directly linking Long Thanh International Airport with Ben Thanh Station. The project is expected to reduce travel time from Long Thanh International Airport to downtown Ho Chi Minh City to just over 30 minutes.
