Nguyen Thi Tuyet Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chief Justice of the People’s Court of Dong Nai province

Building a solid legal foundation for a centrally governed city

The orientation to elevate Dong Nai to a centrally governed city represents not merely an administrative adjustment but a strategic turning point, opening up new development space alongside higher demands for the quality of state governance, including the judicial sector.

In recent years, Dong Nai has laid a solid foundation to emerge as a major urban center, particularly following the provincial merger, organizational consolidation, and operation under a new governance model. From the perspective of the court system, becoming a centrally governed city will require not only lawful adjudication but also faster, more precise, and more specialized handling of cases, thereby fostering a stable and transparent legal environment for socio-economic development.

Notably, after the transition to a three-tier court system and the expansion of jurisdiction, caseloads at the two-tier court system in Dong Nai have risen sharply, with increasingly complex cases. Despite this, the system has remained stable and has met and even exceeded targets set by the National Assembly and the Vietnam Supreme People’s Court.

These achievements provide an important foundation for further reform, enhancing operational quality and reinforcing the court’s role in safeguarding justice, human rights, and citizens’ rights, while contributing to socio-political stability and a robust legal framework for Dong Nai’s sustainable development in the coming phase.

Ho Van Tai, Chairman of the Farmers’ Association of Xuan Loc commune

Truly excited and proud

Officials and members of the Farmers’ Association in Xuan Loc commune are deeply excited and proud as the locality prepares to become a ward within the centrally governed Dong Nai City. This is not simply a change in name or administrative boundaries, but a historic milestone that opens up opportunities for modern, comprehensive development. Farmers expect improved access to synchronized infrastructure, as well as policies supporting modern, green, and sustainable agriculture - particularly mechanisms related to capital and science and technology in urban agriculture.

In response to new demands, Farmers’ Association of Xuan Loc commune is committed to renewing its mindset, shifting from “agricultural production” to an “agricultural economy,” while promoting ecological farming models linked with services and tourism. These efforts aim to raise incomes, create jobs, and strengthen the role of farmers in the urbanization process.

Nguyen Binh Minh, Teacher and General Leader of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, Phan Boi Chau Secondary School

Ready to contribute to the homeland’s development

I feel truly excited and proud to see Dong Nai continuing to grow. As the province moves toward becoming a centrally governed city, I expect further positive changes in infrastructure, economy, and social life as these transformations will not only reshape the local landscape but also create more opportunities for students to learn and develop in a modern, dynamic environment. In my role, I am increasingly aware of the responsibility to educate and nurture students - the future owners of our homeland.

I hope that students of Phan Boi Chau Secondary School will develop in a well-rounded manner, becoming citizens equipped with knowledge, skills, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility, being ready to contribute to building a civilized and modern homeland. At the same time, Young Pioneer Organization activities within the school will continue to innovate and evolve, with greater emphasis on emulation movements, experiential learning, and life skills education, thereby fostering in students a dynamic, creative mindset, a sense of purpose, and a strong aspiration to contribute.

With the attention of leaders at all levels, the close coordination between schools and families, and the efforts of every teacher and student, today’s younger generation will grow with confidence and resilience, contributing to the continued development of their homeland.

Expecting a more innovative approach in administrative management and public services

Dong Nai’s move toward becoming a centrally governed city has generated excitement, optimism, and high expectations among residents. This transition is seen as a powerful driver for accelerated development for the province.

What many people, including myself, look forward to most is a more complete and synchronized infrastructure system, with more convenient connectivity both within the province and with key southern economic hubs - especially Long Thanh International Airport and Ho Chi Minh City. As infrastructure improves, economic opportunities will expand, leading to the creation of more jobs, helping workers stabilize their livelihoods, and earn higher incomes year by year.

Beyond economic growth, residents also expect improvements in administrative management and  public services. Strengthening administrative reform alongside digital transformation and the application of modern technology will be essential to improving state management efficiency and facilitating administrative procedures for citizens, particularly in areas such as taxation and land administration. Besides, we also hope for greater investment in upgrading urban areas, creating greener, cleaner, and more livable environments. Ultimately, the goal is to build modern, yet welcoming and livable cities—places where people can genuinely feel a sense of well-being as development progresses.

Tho Rao (member of Choro ethnic group, Xuan Loc commune)

Hoping for better living conditions

I feel very happy upon hearing that Dong Nai is preparing to become a centrally governed city. This reflects the province’s growing stature and development.

As a resident, I take pride in being part of Dong Nai’s future. I hope the province will continue to develop, with improved roads and a cleaner, more beautiful environment. In particular, I hope more large hospitals will be built in remote and rural areas. At present, seriously ill patients often have to travel long distances to access higher-level healthcare facilities. I also hope there will be more highly qualified doctors so that people can receive better medical care.
