Through these meetings as well as many other information channels, voters have approached the action programs of the candidates; at the same time voiced many opinions and placed their trust in the elected representatives in the new term to fully represent the voice and aspirations of voters and the people.

From trust in the representative role and close connection with voters

After the arrangement of administrative units, Dong Nai has become one of the large-scale localities in the country with 95 commune-level administrative units. Its vast area, large population and position at the center of the Southern key economic region open up many development opportunities but also set higher requirements for management work, infrastructure investment and social welfare assurance. These contents are mentioned by many candidates in their action programs and are also issues of special concern to voters.

From that reality, when expressing their expectations, voters hope that elected representatives in the new term will continue to pay attention to promoting socio-economic development, contributing to improving people’s lives. At the same time, many opinions also emphasized the role of representing the voice of the people, the closeness to the grassroots as well as the supervisory responsibility of representatives after being elected.

Following the action programs of the candidates, voter Le Van Chuong (in Long Binh ward) commented that many contents closely follow issues that people are concerned about such as developing transport infrastructure, environmental protection, job creation and ensuring social welfare. He expressed: “If trusted by voters, deputies need to continue maintaining close contact with voters, regularly listening and promptly reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of the people to the National Assembly and the Provincial People’s Council, thereby contributing to building policies close to reality”.

Chuong also said that he especially places expectations on candidates currently working at central agencies and candidates who are provincial leaders. According to him, with their experience and positions, the candidates, if elected, will promote their role as a bridge, promptly conveying recommendations of Dong Nai voters to competent authorities, contributing to removing difficulties and obstacles in the development process of the locality.

Sharing the same thought, Ngo A Sy (a Hoa ethnic voter in Tan Trieu ward) said that if elected, deputies need to maintain close relations with voters and visit the grassroots on a regular basis to grasp living conditions and listen to people’s thoughts. “When deputies are close to the grassroots, issues directly related to people such as traffic, living environment or policies for ethnic minorities will be reflected more promptly to functional agencies”, Ngo A Sy expressed his expectation.

From the perspective of the activities of elected bodies, Nguyen Thi Le (in Binh Phuoc ward) hopes that deputies in the new term will continue to strongly promote the supervisory role in the implementation of guidelines and policies. According to her, strengthening supervision not only contributes to improving the effectiveness of elected bodies but also helps promptly detect and propose solutions to difficulties and problems arising in practice.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Cuong (in Dau Giay commune) said that she is very confident when many candidates have built quite specific action programs associated with practical issues of people’s daily lives. “What voters want is that after being elected, deputies will implement the commitments they have stated, continue to listen to people’s opinions and provide timely responses to proposals from the grassroots”, Cuong proposed.

Toward expectations for solutions to promote development

Not only paying attention to the representative role of elected representatives, many voters also proposed that deputies in the new term focus on promoting practical fields associated with people’s lives and the sustainable development of the locality.

At voter meetings, many candidates affirmed that if trusted by voters, they will maintain close relations with voters, regularly listen to and promptly reflect proposals and aspirations of the people to competent authorities. At the same time, they were committed to actively participating in supervising the implementation of guidelines and policies, especially issues that voters are concerned about, contributing to improving people’s lives and promoting the sustainable development of the province.

Voter Tran Van Hung (in Nghia Trung commune) expressed his wish that candidates, if trusted, will pay attention to promoting investment to complete the infrastructure system; at the same time promote the application of science and technology and digital transformation in management work as well as in people’s production. According to him, orienting agricultural development in a sustainable direction will contribute to improving production efficiency and creating stable livelihoods for people. In addition, essential fields such as education, environmental protection and social welfare also need to continue receiving attention to improve quality of life.

From the perspective of infrastructure, Huynh Thi Hien (in Bau Ham commune) said that the transport system plays an important role in the socio-economic development of the locality. “I hope deputies in the new term will pay more attention to investing in and upgrading key transport routes, especially roads connecting localities and regions. When transport infrastructure is improved synchronously, people’s  travel and economic activities will become more convenient and the economy will develop further”, Hien shared.

In industrial areas, many workers hope that deputies will pay more attention to policies directly related to their livelihoods and employment. Nguyen Thi Minh, a worker working at Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, expressed that besides ensuring stable jobs, workers also need practical policies on housing, living conditions and social welfare regimes so that they can work with peace of mind and remain committed to their enterprises for the long term.

The diverse opinions from voters show their trust and great expectations for the elected representatives in the new term. With responsibility to voters, representatives are expected to continue promoting intelligence, courage and sense of responsibility, actively participating in policy making, strengthening supervision and promptly reflecting the will and aspirations of the people, contributing to bringing Dong Nai to fast and sustainable development in the coming time.
