Upholding the tradition of “the arduous yet heroic Southeast Region,” the Patriotic Emulation Movement in Dong Nai in recent years has continuously innovated, become more substantive, and closely aligned with each specific task.

From construction sites and factories to schools and residential areas, the spirit of emulation has become a strong endogenous driving force, contributing to Dong Nai’s rise and affirming its position in the region and across the country.
Notable figures
Within the overall picture of Dong Nai’s Patriotic Emulation Movement, the National Solidarity Movement for New-style Rural Development (NRD) stands out as a remarkable highlight, vividly reflecting grassroots-level emulation efforts. For many consecutive years, Dong Nai has been recognized as one of the leading provinces in the country in NRD. To date, the province has 67 communes meeting NRD standards, 25 communes meeting advanced NRD standards, and 8 communes recognized as model NRD communes.
The patriotic emulation movements across the province have closely followed the political tasks of localities, agencies, and units, attracting the active participation of people from all walks of life. With that foundation, together with the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and aspiration to rise, the Patriotic Emulation Movement will continue to spread, becoming a strong driving force to help Dong Nai develop rapidly, sustainably, and prosperously.
Comrade LE TRUONG SON, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee,
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee
Phu Hoa commune is a clear testament to the spirit of emulation. From a purely agricultural commune with many infrastructure limitations, Phu Hoa has made a strong rise to become one of the province’s model NRD communes. Village roads and alleys have been concreted, lighting systems widely installed, schools and medical stations built spaciously, and cultural facilities synchronously invested in.
Nguyen Van Vien, Chairman of Phu Hoa Commune People’s Committee, shared, “We consider NRD as a key political task, not a temporary movement. Emulation must be genuine, transparent, tied to each specific criterion, and measured by people’s satisfaction.”
In the field of social welfare, many emulation movements have made deep impacts, especially the Movement to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses. Responding to the call of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh with the spirit of “rapid, even more rapid,” Dong Nai has so far completed the construction and repair of more than 3,600 houses, reaching 114.5% of the assigned target and finishing 1 to 3 months ahead of the timeframe set by the Government.
Nguyen Tan Phu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province, affirmed, "Each house built is not only a physical shelter but also a home of trust, affirming the determination to leave no one behind on the province’s development journey.”
Inspiring role models
Administrative reform emulation is reflected through practical models such as “4 requests, 4 always” (request to greet, apologize, thank, and ask permission; always smile, always be gentle, always listen, and always help).
At the Public Administration Service Center of Dong Xoai ward, administrative processing time for citizens and businesses has been significantly shortened. Many officials proactively guide citizens and businesses to use online public services, creating clear satisfaction.
Vuong Duc Lai, Vice Chairman of the Dong Xoai Ward People’s Committee and Director of the Ward Public Administration Service Center, said, "Despite heavy workloads, we always take people’s satisfaction as the benchmark. Officials must master procedures and handle tasks correctly, quickly, and without causing inconvenience.”
Dong Nai aims that by 2030 the province will become a modern development center with high competitiveness, entering a new era of national growth together with the whole country.
In the field of science and technology, many officials have pioneered the digital transformation, helping Dong Nai advance rapidly on the national digital transformation map. One notable example is Nguyen Minh Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, who formerly served as Director of the Department of Information and Communications of formerly Binh Phuoc province. Under his leadership and direction, the Department of Information and Communications of formerly Binh Phuoc province was honored to receive the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award in the category of Outstanding Digital Transformation State Agency and also won the prestigious ASOCIO 2024 Award for Outstanding Digital Government presented by the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO).
Nguyen Minh Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, shared, “We are focusing all human resources on supporting communes and wards in restructuring administrative processes and deploying and unifying digital platforms, as well as equipping necessary tools to ensure digital government operations. In the coming time, we will elevate digital transformation by building and consolidating a common provincial database, enabling the provincial leaders to make decisions based on scientific and accurate data.”
Among the younger generation, Le Gia Vinh (Class 9/5, Hung Vuong Secondary School, Trang Bom commune) was honored to be the youngest delegate of the Dong Nai delegation attending the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress in 2025. Vinh is an exemplary Young Pioneer commander, actively participating in activities at Hung Vuong Secondary School. In addition, he has achieved an impressive academic record with many first, second, and third prizes in the district and provincial Online English Olympic competitions in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years. Moreover, Vinh has won first, second, and third prizes in the provincial and district Youth and Children’s Creativity contests for many consecutive years and a first prize in the district Book Creation Contest in 2022.
Hoang Thi Tra Giang, Principal of Hung Vuong Secondary School, commented, "Gia Vinh is not only the pride of his family and school but also a typical role model for Dong Nai’s young generation in terms of confidence, efforts in learning, and a sense of responsibility toward the community during his school years.”
