As one of the localities with a large electorate, nearly 3 million people, covering a wide area with diverse ethnicities, religions, and a high concentration of workers and temporary residents, the organization of elections in Dong Nai required thorough preparation and management. The voter turnout rate of 99.62% not only reflects the tight organization from the provincial to the grassroots level but also clearly reflects the political awareness and sense of responsibility of the people toward this important national event.
Voters show enthusiasm and responsibility
Hung Phuoc commune is one of the localities in the province with 100% voter turnout, completing the election in accordance with regulations. From early morning, residents gathered at polling stations to exercise their rights and obligations as citizens. Notably, many ethnic minority voters, officials, and soldiers stationed in the area arrived early to cast their ballots. For elderly voters and mobility-impaired voters, polling teams proactively provided support so that everyone could exercise their right to vote.
Dieu Ret, a reputable person in Bu Tam hamlet, Hung Phuoc commune, shared, "I am very pleased to participate in the election. This is both a right and a responsibility of every citizen. I hope to elect representatives with integrity and talent who can represent the will and aspirations of the people, contributing to improving the lives of the people, especially ethnic minority groups.”
According to the Commune Election Committee, the organization at polling stations was thoroughly prepared, from decoration and posting lists of voters and candidates to arranging ballot boxes, polling areas, and other necessary facilities. Election staff provided dedicated guidance for voters to follow proper procedures, ensuring democracy is transparent and lawful. The full and serious participation of voters contributed to creating a solemn and joyful atmosphere at polling stations across the commune.
Similarly, in Dak Lua commune, the election day atmosphere was also vibrant, with voters showing a spirit of responsibility. Polling stations were decorated with flags, flowers, banners, and posters; the commune and hamlet loudspeaker systems operated continuously, contributing to communication and mobilization for this nationwide event. Many voters were present very early to exercise their civic rights. By the afternoon of the same day, Dak Lua Commune had completed voting with a voter turnout rate of 100%.
According to Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Dak Lua commune, throughout the election period, voters maintained a spirit of enthusiasm and proactive participation. At the same time, security and order were maintained, ensuring absolute safety for the major event. Polling teams were fully equipped with facilities and arranged forces to ensure security and guide people to comply with regulations.
Community solidarity
Beyond the high turnout of voters, the people’s sense of responsibility was also evident in their joint support for election organization at the grassroots level.
Pham Thi Le Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Binh Minh commune, said that after the commune merger, the number of voters increased, while some areas still face limitations in election-related facilities. In An Chu hamlet alone, there are nearly 14,000 voters, so the locality had to divide it into 5 polling areas to ensure compliance with regulations. Due to the lack of suitable venues, in addition to the hamlet cultural house and schools, the locality mobilized several households to lend their houses for use as polling stations. Notably, the households are willing and active to mobilize support, showing consensus and a spirit of joint contribution to the success of the election day.
According to the Provincial Election Committee, to better serve voters on election day, polling stations were fully equipped with necessary facilities and equipment. Ballot boxes, tables and chairs, polling rooms, and sound and lighting systems were arranged neatly and scientifically; waiting areas were also properly arranged, creating favorable conditions for voters to exercise their rights and obligations.
Nguyen Cong Thang (An Chu hamlet, Binh Minh commune) shared that he was very happy to contribute a small part to help the locality ensure the election takes place smoothly and successfully.
In many industrial zones across the province, a large number of workers actively participated in voting. Nguyen Thi Lan, a worker at TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park), expressed, "I am very happy to be able to vote. I hope the elected representatives will pay more attention to people’s livelihood and employment.”
According to Ha Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs, Member and Secretary of the Provincial Election Committee, the organization of the election is a particularly important political task, requiring thorough and synchronized preparation from the provincial to the grassroots level. In particular, the decisive direction from the central level, along with the responsible involvement of the entire political system and the public consensus, are important factors contributing to the success of the election. In addition, all introduced candidates met the prescribed standards and received high trust from voters both at their workplaces and places of residence. After eight months of operating under the two-tier local government model, the administration has become closer to the people, reinforcing trust and expectations in elected representatives.
The voter turnout rate of 99.62% not only demonstrates thorough preparation in election organization but also serves as evidence of political awareness, sense of responsibility and consensus of the people, contributing to the success of the election.
