The Fifth ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Awards, themed ‘Environmentally Friendly Tourism Destinations’, recognised two Vietnamese products. The Sustainable Rural Tourism Product award was presented to ‘Co To - The Green Island Signature’ by the People’s Committee of Co To Special Zone in Quang Ninh Province, while May Rut Trong Islet - Dugong Bay - A Green Destination in Pearl Island, An Giang Province, won the award for Sustainable Urban Tourism Product.

The Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism noted that these prestigious awards provide clear evidence of the recognition for the relentless efforts of Vietnamese localities and tourism organisations in improving service quality and building destination brands.

This recognition also affirms Viet Nam's goal of developing tourism professionally and sustainably by placing quality, efficiency, and visitor experience at the heart of its strategy. This approach aligns with the Government’s direction of providing distinctive products, professional services, and convenient procedures within a clean and safe environment.

The ASEAN Tourism Awards are held annually by ASEAN to honour destinations, organisations, and enterprises with high-quality tourism products and services, contributing to the sustainable development of tourism in the region. The awards also provide an opportunity for destinations and tourism businesses to advertise their operations and promote the national tourism brand on a global scale.
