These activities not only meet people’s needs for spring celebrations and the Lunar New Year (Tet) festivities, enhancing cultural and spiritual life, but also serve as opportunities to promote the local image and inspire aspirations for building an increasingly prosperous, civilized Dong Nai.
Engaging cultural and artistic activities
One of the annual cultural highlights organized by the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization in coordination with relevant agencies is the Spring Press Festival. The Spring Press Festival for Tet 2026 is being held at the Dong Nai Provincial Library in Tan Trieu Ward (from February 11 to 27), showcasing spring publications from press agencies, departments, and sectors both within and outside the province. Visitors can enjoy newspapers, magazines, artistic photography, and thematic exhibitions reflecting current affairs, politics, landscapes, and the people of Dong Nai.
In addition, the Dong Nai Provincial Library has arranged artistic book displays featuring hundreds of titles related to the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the culture and history of Dong Nai Province.
This year’s New Year’s Eve will feature fireworks displays at 10 locations across the province, including Hoa An Bridge (Tran Bien Ward), Long Khanh Ward Stadium, the social housing area in the Cau Xeo planned residential zone (Long Thanh Commune), Tan Phu Commune General Service Center, Dai Phuoc Commune football field, Suoi Cam Lake (Binh Phuoc Ward), Phu Long commercial area (An Loc Ward), Bu Dang Commune Administrative Center, Suoi Doi Urban and Commercial Service Area (Chon Thanh Ward), and Adamas Square - Diamond City Loc Ninh (Loc Ninh Commune).
Notably, a special artistic program will take place from 8:30 p.m. to midnight on February 16 (the 29th day of the last lunar month of 2025), featuring artists from Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai Art Theatre, and the Dong Nai Cultural and Cinema Center. The program will be broadcast live by Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television from two locations: Hoa An Bridge (Tran Bien Ward) and Suoi Cam Lake (Binh Phuoc Ward).
According to Ton Thi Thanh Tinh, Director of the Dong Nai Cultural and Cinema Center, in addition to performances, the unit is organizing a series of programs celebrating the founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Spring, including the 2026 Dong Nai Modern Dance Groups Competition; traditional “don ca tai tu” (southern amateur music) and “cai luong” (reformed opera) exchanges in Binh Phuoc and Long Binh wards; the Provincial Mass Art Club Competition; the “Dong Nai Integration and Development” photo exhibition in Loc Thành Commune; and the “Spring Dedicated to the Party” exhibition in Binh Phuoc Ward.
“Alongside these activities, the unit’s Mobile Propaganda Team and seven mobile film screening teams have been organizing dozens of outreach sessions at the grassroots level, prioritizing remote areas, ethnic minority communities, border regions, and workers in industrial zones and rental housing areas… These efforts aim to enable rural residents and migrant workers celebrating Tet in Dong Nai to enjoy artistic programs, thereby spreading traditional cultural values during the festive season”, Tinh said.
A variety of unique Tet cultural spaces
During the Tet 2026, the Dong Nai Provincial Museum (Tan Trieu Ward) will open free of charge to serve visitors throughout the holiday. The museum is hosting the Bien Hoa Ceramics Exhibition, featuring over 200 traditional and contemporary ceramic products, alongside a Vietnamese Tet-themed display space open until February 22 (the 6th day of the first lunar month). The exhibition area is decorated with red parallel scrolls, paper firecrackers, bamboo furniture, woven mats, tea sets, and melon seeds, vividly recreating traditional Tet customs. A “Countryside Agricultural Products” stall further contributes to a warm and culturally rich festive atmosphere.
To ensure safe and enjoyable Tet celebrations, the Inspectorate of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision of cultural, sports, tourism, and festival activities. These measures help promptly address violations and create a safe, civilized, festive environment.
The Tet 2026 Spring Flower Street is another attractive destination for residents. Under the theme “Connected Spring - Tet Under One Roof”, Nguyen Van Tri Flower Street (Tran Bien Ward) will open on the evening of February 13 and run until February 22, stretching more than 600 meters from the Hoang Minh Chau - Nguyen Van Tri intersection to the new Hoa An Bridge. Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc Ward will host its Spring Flower Street at March 23 Square (Hung Vuong extended street and January 6 Street). With the theme “Spring of Aspiration - Breakthrough, Rising Up - Creating the Future”, the Spring Flower Street will open on February 14 and continue until February 24.
Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Tam Hiep Ward, said, “This year, the locality is focusing on developing a cultural space at Duong Tu Giang Park as a distinctive spring destination. A wide range of activities - from artistic performances and lion -dragon dances to the light path installation and spring flower festival - are being organized to meet the public’s needs for spring outings and Tet celebrations, contributing to a joyful and culturally rich festive season”.
Vibrant sports activities
Alongside cultural events, numerous sports tournaments have been organized from February 1 to 22, attracting a large number of athletes. Residents can enjoy exciting competitions, such as the Kickboxing Club Championship, traditional martial arts tournaments, and especially the expanded Dong Nai Lion and Dragon Dance Festival celebrating the Party and the Spring.
On February 28 (the 12th day of the first lunar month), the Dong Nai River area in front of the Tan Lan Communal House relic (Tran Bien Ward) will become a highlight with the Dong Nai Open Boat Racing Tournament. This annual early-spring event attracts teams from both inside and outside the province, providing a vibrant sporting arena while preserving and promoting the region’s traditional cultural values.
With a diverse series of cultural and sports activities, the atmosphere of welcoming the Tet 2026 in Dong Nai Province has become increasingly lively and widespread. These efforts meet the public’s cultural and spiritual needs while fostering excitement and confidence for a promising new year ahead.
