In the context of a volatile global economy and intensifying strategic competition among major powers, Dong Nai’s achievements in economic diplomacy in 2025 have contributed to strengthening the province’s position in its deepening international integration.
Economic diplomacy in Dong Nai has moved beyond traditional models to become a key driver of structural transformation. Guided by the philosophy of ‘Government in Partnership, Businesses Breaking Through,’ the province has shifted decisively from a ‘wait-for-investment’ approach to proactively creating opportunities. Candid dialogues between provincial leaders and the foreign direct investment (FDI) business community have gradually addressed regulatory bottlenecks while reinforcing strategic confidence in a transparent and secure business environment.
A key feature of Dong Nai’s economic diplomacy in 2025 was its proactive effort to showcase the province’s products, opportunities, and potential on the global stage. Investment, trade, and tourism promotion initiatives were carried out strategically and across a broad range of major economies, including Japan, China, and Portugal.
Alongside expanding economic cooperation, Dong Nai has maintained and deepened its traditional friendship ties, reinforcing political trust, promoting people-to-people exchanges, and laying the groundwork for long-term partnerships.
The reception of 28 international delegations last year underscores Dong Nai’s rising attractiveness to foreign partners and demonstrates the province’s proactive and professional stance in international engagement.
In the coming years, Dong Nai stands to gain from the imminent opening of Long Thanh International Airport, a development set to act as a major catalyst, establishing the province as a key hub for transit, logistics, and investment in the southern region.
The province’s strategic allocation of large land reserves and the development of industrial, high-tech, and IT zones demonstrate a forward-looking approach to attracting high-quality, environmentally sustainable investment.
The province’s strategy to attract investment in priority sectors such as aerospace, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation not only aligns with global trends but also keeps pace with the national digital economy agenda. To fully harness these emerging growth drivers, economic diplomacy will need to be elevated further, closely attuned to business needs and the province’s sustainable development goals.
Embracing the Prime Minister’s motto “Unity builds strength, cooperation delivers mutual benefits, dialogue fosters trust”, Dong Nai is turning economic diplomacy into an endogenous strength. With its solid foundation established in 2025, the province is poised to achieve new milestones and reinforce its role as a global connectivity hub.
