Thorough preparations underway for Tet welfare activities and the 2026 Border Spring programme

Member of Dong Nai Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son on January 26 chaired a meeting with departments, agencies and sectors  to review preparations for activities marking the founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), celebrating the 2026 Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Horse and the Border Spring programme.

Accordingly, the Provincial People’s Committee issued Plan No. 18/KH-UBND on organizing activities on January 17, 2026 to commemorate the founding anniversary of the CPV and celebrate the 2026 Lunar New Year of the Horse. The activities aim to create a joyful, enthusiastic, united, and confident atmosphere throughout the entire Party, the people, and the armed forces in Dong Nai, while reinforcing ongoing efforts to promote patriotic emulation movements and strengthening the determination to successfully implement the resolutions linked to key Party resolutions for the 2025–2030 period, the 14th National Party Congress and celebrate the Party’s 96th founding anniversary.

The activities are intended to strengthen public communication and education among all levels, sectors and social groups about Vietnam’s historical traditions and cultural heritage. They also reaffirm the CPV’s correct leadership and achievements, while promoting patriotism, national pride, unity, resilience and creativity among the people in the current context.

After listening to reports from leaders of departments, agencies, and sectors on the Tet support activities, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son urged departments, agencies, sectors and mass organisations to strengthen coordination to well organize the activities, noting that 2026 marks the province’s first implementation of the “Border Spring” programme under a Plan 24 issued on January 21, 2026 of the Provincial People’s Committee.

The “Border Spring” programme is set to run from February 5–10, 2026, corresponding to the 18th to 23rd days of the final lunar month, at the Ta Thiet Special National Relic Site - the former headquarters of the Southern Liberation Armed Forces of Vietnam. The programme will feature a series of commemorative and community-focused activities. These include an incense-offering ceremony at the Ta Thiet relic area and film screenings highlighting Dong Nai’s key socio-economic achievements in 2025. An address by the provincial leader to extend Tet greetings is also scheduled. In addition, gifts will be distributed to communes, border guard stations, militia posts, border units at company, platoon and battalion levels, Team K72, and local households, alongside a range of accompanying events.
