On January 17, at Ta Thiet Base in Loc Thanh commune, the Dong Nai Provincial Steering Committee for Border Affairs held a conference to review its work in 2025 and deploy tasks for 2026. The meeting was chaired by Le Truong Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Head of the Dong Nai Provincial Steering Committee for Border Affairs.
Also attending the meeting were Huynh Thi Be Nam, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Border Affairs; Vu Ngoc Long, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; and Senior Colonel Nguyen Anh Duc, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command and Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command.

In 2025, the province strictly implemented resolutions, conclusions, and directives issued by higher authorities on the firm management and protection of border lines and markers. It also coordinated with border management and protection forces of the Kingdom of Cambodia to effectively carry out legal documents and memoranda of understanding on cooperation with provinces of the neighboring country.

At the same time, the province implemented measures to manage and safeguard national border sovereignty and security, promptly addressing issues arising along the border and preventing complicated or prolonged incidents. Efforts were also made to maintain security and public order, and to prevent and combat crime in border areas, including cross-border crime along the land border between Vietnam and Cambodia in the province.

The provincial Steering Committee for Border Affairs regularly integrates communication and dissemination of the Party’s guidelines and policies, as well as directives issued by the Government and central ministries and agencies on land border affairs. It also promotes legal regulations related to border demarcation and marker planting, highlighting their importance in safeguarding and protecting the Fatherland.
In his directive remarks at the conference, Le Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Border Affairs, highly valued the province’s results in implementing border affairs in 2025. He expressed strong agreement with the orientations, solutions, recommendations, and proposals for border affairs work in 2026 presented at the meeting. He assigned the Department of Foreign Affairs to closely monitor developments and advise the province on effectively implementing the regulations on border affairs.
The Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Border Affairs also stressed that the province has conducted surveys of border communes to serve provincial planning. He requested border localities to be proactive and attentive in reviewing and incorporating relevant content into the provincial master plan to support socio-economic development.
He called for the signing of coordination agreements among neighboring border provinces to strengthen cooperation in safeguarding border security and stability. He also tasked the Border Guard to coordinate with departments and agencies to review and implement the “Digital Border Gate” initiative, and to advise the province on investment in the construction and upgrading of border gates, particularly the Hoa Lu International Border Gate and the Hoang Dieu and Loc Thinh border gates.
