Preliminary results of the 2025 rural and agricultural census released

On January 14, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, Head of the Steering Committee for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census, chaired a conference to review and announce the preliminary results of the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census.

The conference was held in person at the Government Office and connected online to 34 centrally governed provinces and cities nationwide.

Attending the conference at the online point of presence in Dong Nai were Cao Dang Vien, Head of the Dong Nai Statistics Office; Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology; along with representatives of members of the Dong Nai Provincial Steering Committee for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census and related departments and sectors.

According to the report of the Central Steering Committee for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census, the preliminary results reflect a relatively comprehensive picture of rural and agricultural development in Vietnam during the 2016-2025 period. As of July 1, 2025, the country had 15.84 million rural households, including 8.02 million households engaged in agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production. Labor working in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries accounted for 51.94% of the total rural labor force nationwide. Nationwide, there were more than 28.3 thousand farms and over 8.3 thousand agricultural, forestry, and fisheries cooperatives operating with effective production and business results…

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc requested that relevant ministries and sectors coordinate and provide guidance to localities in consolidating and reviewing data to ensure accuracy, thereby enabling the organization of final reviews and the publication of detailed provincial and municipal statistics to serve socio-economic development management. He also emphasized the compilation and synthesis of reports, as well as the sharing and use of data in strict compliance with legal regulations.
