Many of Dong Nai’s industrial and trade development indicators achieve double-digit growth

On January 28, the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to roll out tasks for the sector in 2026. The event was held both in person and online, connecting to communes and wards across the province.

Attending the conference were Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee; Vu Ngoc Long, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade; along with leaders of departments, agencies, sectors, associations, and businesses in the province.

According to the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade, industrial, trade, and service activities in Dong Nai recorded many outstanding results. Several development targets for 2025 were exceeded, and even surpassed the national average. Notably, the province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in 2025 was estimated to rise by 15.22% compared to 2024. Total retail sales of consumer goods and service revenue were estimated at over VND 465.8 trillion, up 18.64%.

In 2025, import–export activities showed spectacular growth and became a bright spot in the local economy. Export turnover rose at a double-digit rate, supported by a solid recovery in key export groups, reaching an estimated USD 34.64 billion for the year, up 16.23% year on year. Import turnover was estimated at USD 23.89 billion, up 14.25%, ensuring sufficient input materials for production. The trade balance continued to post a large surplus of USD 10.7 billion, contributing significantly to the national trade surplus (accounting for about 38% of the nation’s totality).

Speaking at the conference, Vu Ngoc Long, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade, informed that in 2026, Dong Nai’s industry and trade sector will focus on developing industry, trade, and services. The department will advise on implementing the Industrial Development Program and the Industrial Cluster Development Plan for the 2026–2030 period; improve mechanisms, policies, and management regulations for industrial clusters; and promote the formation of concentrated industrial zones in the south and industrial–urban zones in the north, to create new growth drivers. The department will also pilot and expand eco-industrial cluster models, effectively implement Power Plan VIII, and accelerate investment in synchronized power grid infrastructure…

The industry and trade sector will coordinate with relevant departments, sectors and localities to promote the investment in large-scale logistics centers linked to ports, Long Thanh International Airport, inland container depots (ICDs), border gates, and inter-regional transport axes. It will also develop wholesale markets and modern commercial centers, combined with digital transformation and e-commerce, while expanding market access for businesses.

In his directive remarks, Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee, emphasized that in 2026, the sector needs to focus strongly on key tasks, projects, and priority works. These include developing in-depth, modern, and sustainable industries; accelerating the development of trade, services, and logistics; ensuring energy security and promoting green energy transition. The sector was also urged to continue administrative reform; improving the effectiveness of state management and the quality of services for businesses; and enhancing advisory, forecasting, and inter-agency coordination work.
