At the Great National Unity Festival held on November 15, 2025, across 18 residential communities in Tho Son Commune, Dong Nai Province, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) mobilised support to deliver 300 gift packages worth a combined 90 million VND to poor households and other residents in need. The effort brought added cheer to the celebration, particularly for disadvantaged families and ethnic minority communities.

The activity formed part of a broader push towards “being closely connected with the people, attentive to their thoughts and aspirations, and serving the interests of the people; mobilizing the people’s strength to care for the people” which the VFFs at all levels in the province strove to implement in 2025 and will continue to do so in the years to come.”

Over VND 900 billion mobilised for social support

A key focus of the Front work and its member organisations is mobilising resources for social welfare, targeting poor people and other vulnerable individuals, while supporting communities nationwide in disaster recovery efforts, guided by the principle of “Leaving no one behind”.

Official figures from the Dong Nai provincial VFF Committee show that more than 4,800 poor and near-poor households remain in need of assistance across the province, alongside other vulnerable residents. Apart from that, nearly 142,000 people receive regular social allowances, while around 1,400 are being cared for at 21 social protection facilities.

The province has rolled out a range of assistance measures to ensure benefits are delivered fully and on schedule to eligible recipients. It has also expanded access to policy-backed credit, enabling households to generate livelihoods, invest in education, build homes, and develop clean water and rural sanitation infrastructure.

Ha Anh Dung, Member of the provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai provincial VFF, said that in addition to the state policies, in 2025, the provincial VFF Committee mobilized more than VND 900 billion for social welfare, drawing contributions from authorities at all levels, businesses and local communities. The funds supported the construction of more than 1,000 permanent homes for households with housing needs, the distribution of nearly 37,000 gift packages to disadvantaged residents and policy beneficiary families, and the provision of 15,500 scholarships to pupils and students.

According to Chu Thi Tiu, a resident of Hamlet 2 in Dak Lua Commune, she received VND 80 million through the provincial VFF to build a permanent home. The commune-level VFF and mass organisations also provided additional material and moral support during construction, enabling the household to stabilise its living conditions.

Along with that, the VFF and its member organisations effectively promoted their role in representing the people’s right to mastery and their legitimate interests through social oversight and social criticism. This was reflected in the implementation of 238 supervision activities in 2025, all addressing issues directly affecting the lawful rights and interests of people from all walks of life.

Throughout the process, Party committees and local administrations across the province worked in close coordination, enabling the VFF and socio-political organisations to carry out social criticism effectively and deliver concrete outcomes. Following these social criticism activities, standing boards of VFF committees at all levels submitted consolidated feedback reports to the relevant authorities.

For the people’s legitimate rights and interests

Following solid gains in social welfare work, Dong Nai began rolling out support schemes right from the start of 2026 for poor and near-poor households, disadvantaged families and ethnic minority communities.

Specifically, at the eighth session held on December 10–11, 2025, the 10th Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council, for 2021–2026 term, passed 51 major resolutions across a range of fields, including several on social welfare work. These included measures on Lunar New Year support packages, assistance schemes for prestigious figures in ethnic minority communities, land policies for ethnic minority residents, and allowances recognising senior citizens.

In 2025, the VFF and its member organisations rallied public support in Dong Nai, securing VND 48 billion for programmes to eliminate substandard housing in other provinces and cities. A further VND 134 billion was channelled into disaster relief, with 189 missions delivering more than 2,300 tonnes of supplies to storm- and flood-hit communities in the north, central regions and the Central Highlands.

The VFF committees and their member organisations at the same levels either took the lead or worked with relevant agencies to implement these resolutions effectively. Oversight was strengthened to ensure related policies were applied fully and in a timely manner for the public.

Ha Anh Dung noted that the provincial VFF regards harnessing the endogenous strength of the great national unity bloc as a central, long-term priority throughout the 2025–2030 term of the VFFs at all levels in the province. In carrying out this task, the VFFs at all levels closely adheres to the provincial Party Congress resolution and the VFF’s action programme. Social welfare - covering support for poor people, policy beneficiary families and other vulnerable groups - remains a core focus, with activities tailored to community needs. VFFs at all levels also emphasise transparency, ensuring mobilised resources are directed to intended beneficiaries.

Hoang Tien Duc, Director of Ho Chi Minh City–based NTD AI Healthcare Technology JSC, said the company has allocated resources for social welfare initiatives facilitated by the provincial VFF and expressed satisfaction at partnering with the VFF to assist disadvantaged communities.
