Localities develop plans to prepare Tet goods

In mid-January 2026, a delegation from the Department of Industry and Trade conducted surveys and worked with several localities and businesses on preparations for the Tet holiday. Discussions focused on plans to prepare goods for Tet Binh Ngo 2026, the deployment of Tet goods supply networks, price listing, and market stabilization during the holiday period.

According to the People’s Committee of Tran Bien Ward, the ward currently has a relatively diverse distribution system, including 10 traditional markets with more than 1,200 business households, as well as convenience store chains such as WinMart+, Bach Hoa Xanh, GS25, Co.op Food, and MM Mega Market Bien Hoa.

During the Tet peak period, Tran Bien Ward will balance supply and demand across 13 commodity groups, with the addition of confectionery and petroleum products compared to regular days. The value structure and volume of each commodity group are clearly defined. Businesses, production, and trading establishments have proactively developed plans to increase inventory levels by 5 to 15 percent above normal levels to meet rising consumer demand.

Similarly, according to a report from the Division of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs of Binh Phuoc Ward, the locality has mobilized 7 production and business establishments to register to supply essential goods, and has committed to cooperating in market stabilization efforts. The total value of registered supply is estimated at over VND 11.5 billion, covering essential goods for both production and daily life, while also supporting disaster and epidemic prevention work in the ward.

Dang Tran Nhat Thoai, Deputy Head of the  Trade Management Division of the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade, said that through surveys, the department has recorded proposals and recommendations from localities and businesses regarding preparations and supply-demand balancing of essential goods for the upcoming Tet. He called on production and business units participating in Tet supply programs to proactively secure supply sources, stabilize prices, and promptly regulate supply when necessary. Localities were also urged to ensure staff duty arrangements during Tet, fire prevention and fighting measures, and parking arrangements for shoppers and visitors.

Businesses proactively stabilize prices

Many major food suppliers and retail enterprises in the province said they will proactively stockpile goods, implement plans to ensure sufficient supply during the pre-Tet peak period, and put in place measures to regulate supply when necessary.

Bui Phan Quoc Viet, Deputy General Director of C.P. Vietnam Corporation in Long Hung Ward, said that during the Tet peak period, the company will focus on ensuring supply for the Dong Nai market. The volume of pork, chicken, and poultry eggs prepared for Tet is equivalent to that of the same period last year. The company currently operates 22 C.P. Fresh Mart and C.P. Fresh Shop stores in Dong Nai. Starting on the 25th day of the twelfth lunar month, it will maintain a stable supply and stabilize prices for essential goods such as pork, chicken, and eggs at these locations during the peak shopping season leading up to Tet.

A representative of Petrolimex Dong Nai One Member Limited Liability Company in Tran Bien Ward said the company currently operates 61 retail outlets across Dong Nai Province, with a total storage capacity of approximately 4,200 cubic meters of various petroleum products. On average, the company supplies about 700 cubic meters of fuel per day, with gasoline accounting for around 40 percent and diesel 60 percent. In preparation for the upcoming Tet peak, the company has developed stockpiling plans, reinforced staffing, and implemented fuel regulation measures to ensure a stable supply.

Vu Manh Tien, Deputy Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People’s Council, emphasized that businesses and localities need to focus on implementing price stabilization measures and transparent price listing, especially for essential goods, while proactively arranging staffing and supply regulation plans to respond promptly during the Tet holiday.
