Dong Nai to stage fireworks at 10 locations on Lunar New Year’s Eve

(ĐN) - To welcome the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee has issued Plan No 18/KH-UBND outlining a series of activities to celebrate the upcoming 96th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Year of the Horse.

According to the plan, the province will host a range of events to celebrate the upcoming 96th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lunar New Year of the Horse, including meetings with current and former provincial leaders, intellectuals, writers and artists; visits and incense-offering ceremonies at historical sites, martyrs’ temples and cemeteries; and outreach programmes to support low-income households, workers, disadvantaged students, people in especially difficult circumstances, and communities in mountainous and border areas.

A variety of cultural, artistic and sporting activities will also take place across towns and communes, alongside floral street displays and urban renovation projects, catering to residents’ demand for spring outings and traditional Lunar New Year celebrations.

The highlight of the New Year’s Eve will be a special arts program followed by fireworks displays to mark the 2026 Lunar New Year. In particular, the main arts program will run from 8.30pm to midnight on 16 February (the 29th day of the final lunar month), broadcast live from two venues: the Hoa An Bridge area in Tran Bien ward and Suoi Cam Lake in Binh Phuoc ward.

Fireworks displays will be held at 10 locations across the province, including Hoa An Bridge (Tran Bien ward); Long Khanh ward stadium; the social housing area within the Cau Xeo residential zone (Long Thanh commune); Tan Phu Commune Integrated Services Centre; Dai Phuoc commune football field; Suoi Cam Lake (Binh Phuoc ward); the commercial land site in Phu Long neighbourhood (An Loc ward); Bu Dang commune administrative center; the Suoi Doi urban and commercial services area (Chon Thanh ward); and Adamas Square – Diamond City Loc Ninh (Loc Ninh commune).

The fireworks display at Hoa An Bridge area will be funded through socialized contributions mobilized by the Provincial People’s Committee and will feature high-altitude fireworks. Meanwhile, at fireworks sites organized by communes and wards, funding will be mobilized by the respective local People’s Committees through socialized sources, with low-altitude fireworks displays to be conducted.
