In recent days, many supermarkets and shopping centers across Dong Nai Province have been launching promotional activities to attract customers during the 2026 New Year’s Day holiday. With a four-day break, consumer spending and travel demand are expected to rise significantly during this period.

Rolling out many demand-stimulus programs

Representatives of numerous supermarkets and shopping centers in the province announced that they will launch major promotions and preferential offers, and strengthen their workforce to serve shoppers better. Many of these stimulus programs focus on Vietnamese-made products.

According to Vu Thanh Tan, Representative of the Communications Department of Central Retail Group in Vietnam, during the upcoming New Year’s Day holiday, the nationwide GO! supermarket chain, including GO! Dong Nai (Long Hung Ward) and GO! Tan Hiep (Tam Hiep Ward) in Dong Nai will launch the promotional campaign “Connecting Every Tet Taste – Always Unbeatable Prices.” Running from December 26, 2025 to January 14, 2026, the program offers a wide range of attractive deals on food, household items, and Tet gifts, making early-year shopping more convenient, cost-effective, and meaningful.

Many types of Tet sweets and preserves are being offered at discounts of up to 24 percent, including shelled cashews, corn gummies, and lotus seed preserves. Additionally, supermarkets within the system will host the “Imported Goods Festival for Cozy Gatherings,” featuring promotional prices on a variety of imported food products.

Le Duc Thuan, Director of Lotte Mart Dong Nai (Long Binh Ward, Dong Nai Province), said the supermarket is currently implementing the promotion “Welcoming the New Year 2026 – Explosive Super Sale,” offering deep discounts of 30–40% on many items, including household goods, electronics, home-care and cleaning products, fresh food, packaged food, confectionery and dairy products, spices, shampoo, and more.

Nguyen Hong Nhung, a resident of Tran Bien Ward in Dong Nai Province, shared that with the 2026 New Year holiday stretching over four days, demand for travel and shopping is expected to rise sharply. During holidays and Tet, in addition to shopping directly at supermarkets, she often opts for online channels and supermarket apps to place orders, a method that both saves time and offers exclusive online promotions.

Similarly, according to Do Doan Thanh, Head of Marketing at Co.opmart Dong Xoai Supermarket in Binh Phuoc Ward, Dong Nai Province, the supermarket is rolling out the program “Sam xuan ron rang - nam moi an khang” (Joyful Spring Shopping - Prosperous New Year), featuring a wide range of promotions on processed foods, household chemicals, daily-use items, clothing, fresh food, and Co.opmart’s private-label products. In addition, the “Chao 2026 - Mua gi voi gia 26 ngan dong” (Welcome 2026 - What to buy for 26,000 dong) program applies to clothing, while the “Vietnam Grand Sale,” running from January 1 to 18, 2026, covers processed foods, household chemicals, home goods, clothing, fresh produce, and private-label items, alongside various weekend promotional campaigns.

Ensuring supply-demand balance and market stabilization

The People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province has issued Official Dispatch No. 12680/UBND-KTNS on implementing solutions to ensure supply–demand balance and stabilize the market at the end of 2025 and during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse (Binh Ngo) 2026 in Dong Nai Province.

Accordingly, to ensure the balance of supply and demand for essential goods and stabilize the commodity market at the end of 2025 and during the Lunar New Year of 2026, while also laying the groundwork for achieving economic goals as directed by the Government, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee has requested departments, agencies, and production and business enterprises in the province to promptly develop production and business plans, commodity supply plans, and measures to handle unusual market fluctuations.

Relevant departments, sectors, localities, and units are required to facilitate enterprises’ participation in goods-supply programs, expand distribution networks to densely populated areas, industrial zones, suburban districts, and remote or underserved regions, to improve access to goods for middle- and low-income residents.

The Provincial People’s Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to monitor market developments and supply closely-demand conditions of essential goods, especially items with high demand or significant price fluctuations, to proactively devise plans or propose measures to competent authorities to ensure supply–demand balance and market stability, preventing shortages or supply disruptions that could cause sudden price hikes during the year-end period and the Lunar New Year. At the same time, inspection and market supervision activities will be strengthened, with a focus on prices, product quality, food safety regulations, and acts of speculation, hoarding, or unreasonable price increases.

Accordingly, many supermarkets have proactively prepared supplies for the year-end shopping season, the New Year holiday, and the 2026 Lunar New Year. Lotte Mart Dong Nai Director Le Duc Thuan added that to maintain stable prices during the peak shopping periods for New Year and Lunar New Year 2026, the supermarket chain will continue to offer a range of promotional products at competitive prices through regular programs, helping customers shop smart and save more. Currently, the supermarket's supply of goods for the upcoming peak season is plentiful, offering a wide variety of models and product categories.
