At the meeting, leaders of the provincial Department of Construction reported on the implementation of several key transportation projects planned for 2026. These include the Cat Lai Bridge, the Long Hung Bridge, the extension of Huong Lo 2 connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway, and the project to extend the Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien Metro Line to the provincial administrative center and Long Thanh International Airport.
For the Cat Lai Bridge and Long Hung Bridge projects, after the Provincial People’s Council issued resolutions approving the investment policy under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, the Provincial People’s Committee issued decisions approving the Council for the architectural design competition. On December 31, 2025, the provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board submitted proposals to the Department of Finance for appraisal and approval of the investor selection results for the projects under special circumstances.
For the project to extend Huong Lo 2 to the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway, after the Department of Finance sought appraisal opinions on the project’s feasibility study report under the PPP model, the investor, Donacoop Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, resubmitted the dossier in accordance with the request of the provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
Regarding the project to extend the Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien Metro Line to the provincial administrative center and Long Thanh Airport, relevant agencies are expected to complete procedures related to the section passing through defense land in January 2026 and reach agreement with Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) on the layout of the metro station within Long Thanh Airport.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut stressed that the key transportation projects scheduled for implementation in 2026 are mandatory projects aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and creating momentum for the province’s socio-economic development. Regarding the Cat Lai Bridge and Long Hung Bridge projects, he requested provincial authorities to coordinate and work with relevant agencies of Ho Chi Minh City to agree on the timeline for the groundbreaking ceremonies.
For the projects to extend Huong Lo 2 to the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway and to extend the Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien Metro Line to the provincial administrative center and Long Thanh Airport, relevant agencies were instructed to continue coordinating with investors to complete the remaining procedures.
For localities where the projects pass through, authorities were urged to focus on preparing for site clearance. “Without cleared land, it’s impossible for the projects to be constructed,” Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut stressed.
