According to the Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction), the Component Project 2  of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway section running through Dong Nai province had reached nearly VND 3.6 trillion in construction output as of mid-January 2026, equivalent to about 87% of the signed contract value.

The Component Project 2 of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway includes two major construction packages: Package 9-XL, covering the Km16+000–Km23+000 section, and Package 10-XL, running from Km23+000 to Km34+200. Work on Package 9-XL has reached more than VND 1.9 trillion, or about 91% of the contracted value, while Package 10-XL has achieved nearly VND 1.7 trillion in construction output, equivalent to around 82% of its contract value.

Currently, some major construction tasks of the project have been completed. The expressway section has finished earthfill, crushed stone base, cement-treated base (CTB), and asphalt concrete paving on more than 18 km of the main route, while contractors are now completing the remaining branch roads.

As for bridge section, construction has been largely completed on 22 out of the project’s 23 bridges. The only outstanding structure is the five-span overpass at Km25+780 on Provincial Road 770B, where two of the four piers have been built and one span installed. Remaining works have been delayed due to pending site handover by local authorities.

The Project Management Board 85 said all construction materials, including fill soil and aggregates, have been fully licensed by Dong Nai and are sufficient to meet on-site demand. Land clearance for the project’s original scope has been completed, with more than 180 hectares handed over for construction. Additional land required for new works, including ITS turnaround lanes, toll plazas, access roads in Phuoc Thai Commune and an expanded section of Provincial Road 770B for the Km25+780 overpass-has been approved for boundary demarcation, with site markers already installed and transferred to local authorities. However, adjustments to the land clearance subproject are still under review, and compensation procedures have yet to begin.

To maintain overall momentum, the Project Management Board 85 has asked Dong Nai authorities to fast-track compensation and land clearance, targeting full handover of the additional sites within January 2026.

The Component Project 2  of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway, extending more than 18 kilometres through Dong Nai, is scheduled to be technically opened to traffic ahead of the 2026 Lunar New Year.
