Warmth and compassion
The post “Trang Dai ward residents stay up all night making banh chung to support flood victims” published on November 23 on Dong Nai Newspaper’s Facebook page received nearly 10,000 interactions and shares. The warm atmosphere, captured through images of Trang Dai Ward Cultural House filled with hundreds of residents, from elders to children, from workers to street vendors, working together to make banh chung (square glutinous rice cake) and banh tet (cylindrical glutinous rice cake) and gather essential goods for flood-hit localities in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, moved many on social media. “Thank you so much for your kindness and help”, the account Phim Hay commented, echoing the feelings of many. With sincerity, Danh Le Ba shared: “I’ve seen firsthand how residents in Dong Nai hamlets have donated so much: clothes, rice, instant noodles, money, blankets…”
Comments continued to pour in, forming a collective emotional thread. User Tu Trinh exclaimed: “Amazing!”, while Tan Huong Dang added: “So good, truly appreciated”.
Beyond praise, many readers expressed admiration for the sense of unity that the novel conveyed. “Everyone is so enthusiastic, such beautiful, heartfelt compassion!” wrote user Bui De.

Facebook user Bui Van wrote: “This is national solidarity at its finest. Truly wonderful for the noble gestures and patriotism of people across provinces and cities.” Messages from both ends, those giving and those receiving, helped rekindle a strong belief in human kindness during times of hardship.
Helping flood victims regain stability
In recent days, the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Dong Nai Province, along with the rest of the country, have turned their attention to the Central and Central Highlands provinces, which have been heavily affected by the historic floods. Particularly moving has been the powerful image of Dong Nai's compassion reaching the flood-stricken core areas of Dak Lak Province through swift and meaningful actions, helping residents stabilize their lives and leaving a deep impression on local communities.
As soon as the articles on “Dong Nai delegation sets off to reinforce support in Dak Lak Province” were shared on Dong Nai Newspaper’s Facebook page on November 25, social media once again surged with messages of love and solidarity. Many comments conveyed trust and pride in the province’s timely response. “At moments like this, people’s generosity is essential,” wrote user To Anh Tuan.
Dong Nai’s establishment of a task force with 293 participants, including doctors, medical staff, youth union members, Red Cross representatives, and volunteer forces, equipped with medicine, specialized equipment, medical supplies, and essential goods to support Dak Lak residents in overcoming immediate difficulties, drew significant public attention. In addition to sending multiple support teams, Dong Nai also provided Dak Lak with 10 billion VND.
Alongside the medical teams, Dong Nai Provincial Police mobilized 115 officers and soldiers to directly assist residents in dealing with the aftermath of the disaster. Specialized vehicles such as canoes, rescue equipment, and essential supplies were promptly deployed.
Readers widely praised the effort as timely and commendable. “Dong Nai people are so spirited. All for our compatriots in the Central region, wonderful!” wrote Facebook user Le Nguyen Minh.
