Offering incense to commemorate 69th anniversary of  the Tan Hiep Prison uprising

On the morning of December 2, the Dong Nai Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Imprisoned by the Enemy, in coordination with Tam Hiep ward, held a ceremony to offer incense in commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the Tan Hiep Prison uprising (December 2, 1956 - 2025).

Attending the incense offering ceremony were Le Thi Thai, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Tam Hiep ward; Tran Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Imprisoned by the Enemies; Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Chairman of the Provincial Association for Supporting Martyrs' Families; and other delegates.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegates offered incense and flowers and observed a moment of silence to honor the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Tan Hiep Prison uprising, as well as those imprisoned at Tan Hiep Prison during the resistance war against imperialism and colonialism to defend the Fatherland’s independence.

According to Tran Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Imprisoned by the Enemies, 69 years ago, at 5:30 p.m. on December 2, 1956, under the leadership of the prison’s Party Committee, hundreds of imprisoned revolutionary cadres and soldiers rose up to break out of the prison, finding their way back to the revolution. During this breakout, 462 soldiers successfully escaped, while 22 comrades sacrificed their lives.

Every year on December 2, the association jointly holds a ceremony to offer incense in memory of the martyrs and works with local youth union organizations to educate students and the younger generation about the tradition of revolutionary struggle.
