On the afternoon of December 30, the Dong Nai Journalists Association held its first congress for the 2025–2030 term.

The congress was attended by Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) Tran Trong Dung; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province Nguyen Tan Phu; Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Nguyen Thi Loan; representatives of provincial departments and agencies; leaders of journalists associations from other provinces and cities; and more than 250 delegates and members of the Dong Nai Journalists Association.

In his opening address, a member of the Executive Committee of the VJA and Chairman of the Dong Nai Journalists Association Tran Nam Dong, stressed that the congress was tasked with reviewing and evaluating the association’s activities during the 2020–2025 term, while setting out orientations and tasks for the 2025–2030 term. The congress elected a new Executive Committee and Inspection Committee with the aim of promoting renewal, improving the quality of professional activities and journalistic ethics in the new context, meeting the requirements of modern journalism development in the era of Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence. It also elected a delegation to attend the 12th National Congress of the VJA for the 2025–2030 term.

At the congress, the Presidium reported on the outcomes of the first working session of the 1st Congress of the Dong Nai Journalists Association for the 2025–2030 term. Delegates watched a video clip reviewing activities during the 2020–2025 term and outlining orientations and tasks for the 2025–2030 term.

Delegates presented several thematic papers, including “Keeping the Flame Alive” in the context of mergers and consolidation in local journalism; when journalistic works are “imbued with literary language”; and promoting the role of resident correspondents in communications on key projects and major works.

The Executive Committee of the Dong Nai Journalists Association for the 2025–2030 term consists of 10 members. Journalist Tran Nam Dong was re-elected Chairman of the Dong Nai Journalists Association for the 2025–2030 term.

Delivering his directive address, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nong Hong Thuc acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements and results recorded by the Dong Nai Journalists Association during the previous term. He emphasised that the congress took place at a time when the country in general and Dong Nai province in particular are embarking on a new era – an era of national rise. This requires the association to continue making efforts to strongly renew its content and methods of operation, improve the quality of journalistic works, successfully fulfil assigned tasks, and accompany the Party organisation, authorities, and people in contributing to the development of Dong Nai as a "green, prosperous, civilised and modern” province.

Vice President of the VJA Tran Trong Dung expressed his hope that in the coming period, the Dong Nai Journalists Association will build a strong spirit of unity based on openness, transparency, and strict adherence to the leadership of the Party. He also called on the association to proactively enhance professional training and political awareness among its members in the context of rapid digital technology development, while maintaining and promoting the effectiveness of professional clubs and groups to create a healthy and practical professional environment, thereby contributing to improving the quality of journalists in the province.
