On December 20, the Provincial Military Command held a ceremony to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – 2025) and a gathering marking the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Armed Forces of the former Binh Phuoc province – present-day Dong Nai province (December 25, 1945 – 2025).

Attending the gathering were: Colonel Nguyen Van Loc, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 7; Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of the province; former and current leaders of Binh Phuoc – Dong Nai province; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee; as well as representatives from provincial departments, agencies, mass organizations, and military units stationed in the area.

At the gathering, delegates revisited the “Determined to Fight, Determined to Win” tradition, reflecting on 81 years of the Vietnam People’s Army’s formation, combat, victories, and development, as well as the 80-year history of the provincial armed forces of Binh Phuoc - Dong Nai.

He also emphasized that the achievements and successes of our army and the provincial armed forces have made significant contributions to the cause of national liberation and to the construction and defense of the country’s independence, especially since the merger and the implementation of the two-tier local government model. The Provincial Military Party Committee and Command have effectively advised the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 7, Provincial Party Committee, and Provincial People’s Committee in providing consistent leadership and direction for military and defense tasks. As a result, the outcomes have been comprehensive, with many outstanding aspects highly appreciated by both provincial leadership and the Military Region 7.

Speaking at the gathering, Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council, acknowledged and praised the achievements of the provincial armed forces in recent years. She noted that in 2025, the province’s socio-economic development continued to grow steadily, with numerous major projects underway; on December 19, Long Thanh International Airport welcomed its first flight, along with other economic and social welfare accomplishments. She emphasized that the achievements in socio-economic development, national defense, and security have been greatly supported by the provincial armed forces, especially since the provincial merger.

The Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee urged the Provincial Military Command’s Party Committee to continue inheriting and promoting the 80-year traditions of the Military Region 7 armed forces and the Binh Phuoc – Dong Nai provincial armed forces. Emphasis was placed on enhancing overall capacity and combat strength, proactively monitoring situations to maintain stability in border areas, effectively conducting mass mobilization work, and building an all-people national defense and a solid defense area.

Ongoing efforts were expected to excellently complete all assigned tasks, worthy of the sacrifices of past generations, and to continue upholding the proud “Determined to Fight, Determined to Win” tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army, as well as the traditions of the Military Region 7 and Dong Nai provincial armed forces, truly serving as the core force in protecting the Party, State, and people in the area.

On this occasion, the Provincial Military Command announced its decision to establish the 9-member Traditional Liaison Committee of the Binh Phuoc – Dong Nai provincial armed forces.
