At the conference, Vo Hoang Khai, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology, emphasized that the application of atomic energy, particularly the use of radiation equipment such as X-ray machines and CT scanners, plays an essential role in public healthcare, especially in diagnosis and treatment. However, alongside these significant benefits, he warned that the use of ionizing radiation also carries potential risks if not tightly managed and controlled. He noted that new government regulations on decentralization and delegation of authority, together with updated penalties, are aimed at reinforcing compliance with the law. As a result, healthcare facilities must stay current and proactive to avoid unnecessary errors.

At the conference, speakers briefed healthcare personnel responsible for radiation safety on key topics, including regulations on medical radiation procedures, online submission and tracking via the National Public Service Portal, preparation of safety assessment reports, and the development of facility-level incident response plans. They also addressed administrative penalties in the field of atomic energy, as well as inspection and calibration requirements for diagnostic X-ray equipment, and common errors in administrative procedures and radiation safety practices at healthcare facilities.
