On the morning of December 26, the Dong Nai provincial delegation of National Assembly (NA) deputies held a gathering to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's first General Election Day (January 6, 1946 - 2026), and to review the activities of the 15th- tenure NA delegation of Dong Nai Province for the 2021–2026 term.

Attending the program were comrades Vu Hai Ha, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the NA Party Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the NA and 15th-tenure NA deputy of Dong Nai Province; Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Ho Chi Minh City NA Delegation; and former Members of the Party Central Committee.
Representing Dong Nai Province were Comrades Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Dong Nai’s NA delegation; Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Thai Bao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission along with members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the provincial People’s Council, the provincial People’s Committee, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, current and former leaders of the Dong Nai’s NA Delegation and the former Binh Phuoc’s NA Delegation.

Activities of the Dong Nai’s NA delegation prove increasingly substantive and effective
Reporting on the provincial NA delegation’s activities for the 2021–2026 term, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and full-time Deputy Head of the Dong Nai’s NA delegation, Dieu Huynh Sang, affirmed that during the 15th NA term, the delegation fully and comprehensively performed its functions and tasks as prescribed by law, with activities becoming increasingly in-depth, substantive, and effective.
In legislative work, the provincial NA delegation organized 30 conferences and issued 270 documents to collect opinions from agencies, departments, experts, units, localities, and through the electronic portal on 148 draft laws. The collected opinions were synthesized and reported to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the drafting body in accordance with regulations, while contributions from members of the Dong Nai’s NA delegation were absorbed and incorporated into draft laws.
At the gathering, delegates watched documentary footage reviewing the 80-year tradition of the NA’s close bond with the people and the nation, and listened to representatives of the Dong Nai NA Delegation across different periods share memories, sentiments, and above all, their sense of responsibility to the Fatherland and the people.

During the 2021–2026 term, the provincial NA delegation conducted 49 thematic supervision and survey activities locally; participated in more than 57 supervision activities of the NA, its agencies, the Provincial People’s Council, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; and carried out 70 interpellations at the sittings and sessions of NA Standing Committee. Supervision focused on key issues of concern to voters.
The work of receiving citizens, handling petitions, and supervising the resolution of citizens’ complaints and denunciations by competent authorities saw positive progress. The provincial NA delegation received over 600 citizens’ petitions and reflections; processed more than 2,700 complaint and denunciation letters; forwarded over 800 cases to competent authorities for settlement; and archived more than 1,900 overlapping petitions, petitions that had already been resolved, or those without signatures or with unclear content and unidentified complainants or denunciators.

Regarding voter engagement, the provincial NA delegation organized 52 meetings with voters at 341 locations with the participation of over 20,000 voters, collecting about 3,000 opinions and recommendations across economic, socio-cultural, national defense–security fields and public administration. More than 600 voters’ recommendations were forwarded to the Government and central ministries, and over 1,400 voters’ opinions to the Provincial People’s Committee for settlement and reply as prescribed.
Dong Nai’s NA deputies attended all 19 NA sessions as required, dedicating substantial time to research and contributing opinions to lawmaking and major national issues with a high sense of responsibility to voters.
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the NA awarded the Medal “For the cause of the Vietnam’s NA” to individuals with contributions to the NA’s development; and presented certificates of merit of Chairperson of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee to 12 collectives and 37 individuals for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement celebrating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election Day.
Upholding tradition, enhancing quality and effectiveness
Speaking on behalf of the Standing members of the Provincial Party Committee, Comrade Ton Ngoc Hanh emphasized that the results achieved by the Dong Nai NA delegation in the past term have made an important contribution to creating favorable conditions for the province’s strong development in the coming period. These results are made possible thanks to the direct and comprehensive leadership of the NA and the Provincial Party Committee, effective coordination with the People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments and sectors, and especially the dedication, intellect, and mettle of each NA deputy.

Hanh noted that Dong Nai province is standing at a historic opportunity, as it is identified as the country’s key growth drivers and a major industrial and logistics hub centered on the internationally scaled Long Thanh Airport urban area. Accordingly, the province hopes the NA, Government, and ministries will continue to provide mechanisms and prioritize resources for strategic infrastructure development, growth model innovation, and a highly competitive investment environment.

For the Dong Nai’s NA delegation, in the new term, the Provincial Party Committee expects it to continue promoting unity, maintaining political resolve, improving quality and effectiveness, staying close to the people, faithfully conveying voters’ legitimate aspirations to the NA and Government, and fulfilling its representative role in legislation, supreme supervision, and decisions on major national issues. The provincial NA delegation was also encouraged to innovate its working methods and proactively propose breakthrough mechanisms, especially special mechanisms for Long Thanh Airport and a free trade zone, to create new growth drivers for Dong Nai.

Additionally, the provincial NA delegation should strengthen supervision and post-supervision, focusing on issues directly affecting national interests and people’s livelihoods, particularly in project areas; ensure social security; resolve prolonged complaints; closely supervise land, environment, public investment, and social order and safety to protect legitimate public interests and strengthen public trust.

At the same time, attention should be given to organizational consolidation, enhancing the capacity of advisory and support staff of the NA delegation and the People’s Council toward specialization, professionalism, and modernization, and accelerating digital transformation, so as to successfully fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party, the State, and the people, contributing to building Dong Nai into an increasingly prosperous, civilized, and modern province, meeting basic criteria to become a centrally governed city by 2030, together with the country entering a new era of development.
