Press works highlight the 80-year journey of the NA’s establishment and development alongside the national development
In his remarks, Chairman of the NA Tran Thanh Man stressed that 2025 marked a year in which the NA continued to inherit achievements while promoting innovation in organisational structure and operational methods, responding swiftly to practical demands. The NA reviewed, discussed, adopted and decided on a very large volume of work, and for the first time successfully organised a Lawmaking Forum and a Supervision Activities Forum. These initiatives affirmed strong innovation in legislative thinking and law enforcement, as well as new approaches to supervision that are democratic, open, transparent and accountable. At the same time, the NA and its agencies have accelerated digital transformation, applying information technology and artificial intelligence, which has begun to deliver tangible results.
The NA Chairman highly appreciated and acknowledged that this year’s Dien Hong Awards attracted enthusiastic participation from journalists nationwide and received wide public attention. The organising committee received numerous press works that were carefully prepared, professionally executed, innovative in approach and highly impactful, earning strong public interest and high evaluations from the judging council. Many works vividly highlighted the 80-year formation and development of the National Assembly in close connection with the country’s overall development, while also providing in-depth reflection and analysis of the operations of the NA, People’s Councils at all levels, and elected representatives in the context of Vietnam entering a new development era.

Chairman of the NA Tran Thanh Man expressed confidence that in 2026, the journalists would continue to uphold professional dedication, strong responsibility and steadfast integrity, delivering objective and multi-dimensional coverage of social life, accompanying the NA and promptly and comprehensively conveying its activities. He emphasised the role of the press in identifying shortcomings in lawmaking and law enforcement, thereby helping elected bodies operate more effectively and efficiently. In particular, the media were urged to strongly spread renewed determination and momentum across the Party, the people and the armed forces in implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. He further underscored the need to reflect ongoing reforms in the NA’s operations, identifying legislation as the “breakthrough of breakthroughs” that leads and paves the way, while supervision must be substantive and pursued to full accountability.
“The press must further promote digital transformation and the application of information technology and artificial intelligence, and enhance the quality of decisions on major national issues. As Party General Secretary To Lam once stated, every decision of the NA must demonstrate strategic vision, meeting immediate needs while ensuring long-term development orientation,” the Chairman of the NA noted.
