On the evening of December 12 in Hanoi, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and spoke at the 11th National External Information Service Awards Ceremony 2025, a prestigious event of special significance in the field of the country’s foreign information and communication.

The awards ceremony was jointly organized by the Steering Committee for External Information Service, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation, and Vietnam Television. Attending the event were Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Service, and Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, Nguyen Trong Nghia; Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Trinh Van Quyet; Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Le Hoai Trung; Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister, Bui Thanh Son. They were joined by leaders of central ministries and agencies, representatives of international organizations, and foreign diplomatic missions in Vietnam.
At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that foreign information is a strategic element of Vietnam’s soft power. He urged the cultivation of a foreign information workforce that is “resolute, insightful, creative, responsible, and visionary,” embodying the spirit of “steel in the pen, fire in the heart,” to project an accurate, dynamic, and positive image of Vietnam to the international community.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that, despite facing numerous challenges, Vietnam’s foreign information work has achieved significant results, with proactive and timely messaging, increasingly comprehensive content, diverse and creative formats, and a growing reach. These efforts have strengthened public trust, fostered social consensus, connected Vietnamese communities abroad, and effectively countered false narratives, helping shape international opinion positively.
The 11th National External Information Service Awards 2025 saw a record-breaking 2,412 entries, double the average of previous editions. The submissions comprehensively covered the country’s major political, foreign, and cultural events; vividly showcased achievements across multiple sectors; and promoted Vietnam’s image, people, and cultural values amid deepening international integration.
The organizers awarded 8 First Prizes, 16 Second Prizes, 24 Third Prizes, and 40 Consolation Prizes to outstanding individuals and organizations from Vietnam and abroad across eight categories: Vietnamese-language newspapers/magazines; foreign-language newspapers/magazines; radio; television; books; photography; digital and multimedia products; and initiatives or products with significant foreign affairs information value.

Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television was honored with the Second Prize in the radio category for “Dong Nai Promotes the Strength of People-to-People Diplomacy.” The work was produced by Hien Vuong, with radio presenters Hoang Huan and Bao Thy, and technician Nguyen Tot.
Now in its 11th edition, the National External Information Service Awards has established itself as a respected and influential platform, offering significant recognition and encouragement to professionals in foreign affairs information at home and abroad. In the current era of development, alongside national defense, security, and diplomacy, foreign affairs information remains vital, helping to protect the country proactively and from a distance, while fostering a favorable environment for sustainable and accelerated growth.
