On December 24, the provincial Department of Home Affairs released Report No. 277/BC-SNV regarding labor conditions, wages, and Lunar New Year (Tet) welfare programs. The report indicates that business operations in 2025 continued to recover and stabilize.
As of November 15, 2025, the province recorded over 113,480 registered business entities. Over the past year, the average monthly salary reached 11.1 million VND. Wholly state-owned enterprises led with an average of 15.5 million VND, followed by the foreign-invested (FDI) sector at 10.9 million VND, and the domestic private sector at 7.3 million VND.
With just over a month until the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), businesses and relevant authorities in Dong Nai are finalizing bonus schemes and welfare plans for employees. The outlook for this year's bonuses is positive, with figures generally remaining stable or showing a slight increase compared to the previous year.
Based on reports from nearly 1,500 enterprises, the highest Lunar New Year bonus in the province is currently recorded at 840 million VND within the domestic private sector. In this sector, the average bonus for employees is approximately 11.4 million VND per person.
For the foreign direct investment (FDI) sector, the peak bonus stands at 700 million VND, with an average payout of 13.3 million VND per person. Additionally, the highest bonus for the 2026 New Year reached 228.5 million VND, also recorded at a foreign-invested enterprise.
Beyond cash bonuses, local enterprises are implementing various welfare initiatives for workers, including year-end parties, gift sets from management and trade unions, and providing bus tickets or shuttle services for employees returning home for the holiday.
The Department of Home Affairs has also been collaborating closely with the provincial Labor Federation to organize social welfare programs, such as the Tet Reunion programme, zero-dong stalls, and providing financial aid and gifts to workers in difficult circumstances or families affected by workplace accidents. In the coming weeks, authorities will continue to monitor and urge businesses to comply with wage and bonus policies to ensure social order and protect workers' rights ahead of the New Year.
