On December 26, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to honor outstanding ethnic minority teachers, university students and pupils in Dong Nai Province in 2025.

Attending the ceremony were Le Truong Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee; Luu Thi Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province; Tran Thanh Hoa, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs; along with leaders of provincial departments and sectors.

At the event, 115 ethnic minority teachers, pupils and students from 55 communes and wards in the southern area of Dong Nai Province were honored. Of these, 38 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People’s Committee, while 77 others were awarded Certificates of Commendation by the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Le Truong Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee congratulated the honorees and affirmed that education and training have always received special attention and close leadership and direction from the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, creating the most favorable conditions for strong progress in the province’s education sector to meet requirements for renewal and development.
For ethnic minority communities, education not only provides knowledge but also plays an important role in preserving and promoting their traditional cultural identities.

To further improve the quality of education and training for ethnic minority children, Le Truong Son requested the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs to continue playing its role as the lead agency, coordinating with departments and sectors to effectively implement the National Target Program on Socio-economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021–2030 period, especially projects related to education, training and human resource development.
He also called for research and proposals on timely and practical support policies on financial assistance and scholarships for disadvantaged students and university students, to help them overcome difficulties in their studies. At the same time, the department was asked to proactively advise the Provincial People’s Committee on organizing a province-wide ceremony to honor ethnic minority teachers, university students and students in in 2026.

The Department of Education and Training was urged to continue improving the quality of teaching staff, particularly ethnic minority teachers, and to effectively manage the system of ethnic boarding schools, fully tapping their potential to create the best possible learning and development environment for students.

The Dong Nai-based Vietnam Bank for Social Policies was requested to continue prioritizing capital sources and effectively implementing preferential credit programs for ethnic minority students and university students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Local Party committees and authorities were also asked to enhance their responsibility in managing and monitoring the learning situation of ethnic minority children.
Le Truong Son encouraged ethnic minority teachers to continue fostering dedication and love for their profession, maintaining enthusiasm and serving as role models in ethics and professional competence in the cause of education. He also urged ethnic minority university students and students to continue striving to build knowledge and skills for their future careers, becoming exemplary citizens in order to contribute to the community’s sustainable development and the building of an increasingly prosperous Dong Nai.
