Dong Nai claims overall title at 2025 National Yoga Championship

(ĐN) - Dong Nai’s yoga team outperformed their previous year’s results, securing nine gold medals to top the overall standings at the 2025 National Yoga Championships held in An Giang.

The event took place from November 28 to 30 at the An Giang Multi-Purpose Sports Hall and was jointly organized by the Yoga Federation of Vietnam and the An Giang Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Now in its seventh edition, the championship is a premier national competition that attracts top athletes from across the country.

This year, 120 male and female athletes from 12 provinces and cities competed in two categories: Yoga Asana (22 events) and Artistic Yoga (17 events).

Dong Nai’s team delivered a stellar performance, finishing with nine gold, ten silver, and nine bronze medals, surpassing both their pre-set targets and their 2024 results, which included three gold, four silver, and five bronze medals.

Among the nine gold medals Dong Nai claimed at the championship, athlete Nguyen Thi Cam Tu stood out by winning three. She successfully defended her individual golds in two female Yoga Asana events, Dragonfly Pose II and Lotus Peacock Pose, and added another gold in Dragonfly Pose I.

Nguyen Kim Mo contributed two gold medals, one in the mixed-pair rhythmic event with Huynh Phi Vu, and another in the women's trio event alongside Chung Thi Le Quyen and Chung Thi My Uyen. Nguyen Trong Dung secured gold in the men’s individual artistic event and, together with his teammates, also won gold in the men’s five-person group event. Duong Diem Phuong claimed additional golds in the women’s individual artistic event and by the men’s trio of Hoang Van Quang, Dao Quoc Hung, and Nguyen Chi Nhan.

With these results, Dong Nai surpassed strong contenders to claim the overall championship title. The performance of the Dong Nai yoga team was a source of great pride for the province and serves as motivation for the team to continue striving in future seasons.

Also earning nine gold medals but with fewer silvers, Khanh Hoa finished second with nine gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. Ho Chi Minh City ranked third with five gold, 11 silver, and four bronze medals. Fourth to sixth places went to Ho Chi Minh City 1 (three gold medals), Thanh Hoa (two gold medals), and Quang Ngai (two gold medals), respectively.
