During the 2023-2025 period, farmers’ unions at all levels across Dong Nai Province have closely aligned with political tasks, effectively implemented programs and action plans, and advanced the farmers' movement. Most targets assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and the Central Farmers’ Union have been met or exceeded, especially in political education and communication, vocational training, the establishment of professional branches and groups, the “Good Farmers in Production and Business” movement, and the development of the collective economy.
Emulation movements have expanded widely, affirming the central and core role of Farmers’ Unions at all levels in agricultural, rural, and farmers’ development. The unions have promoted the role of farmers as key actors in developing agriculture, promoting rural economic growth, and creating new-style rural areas.
INNOVATION IN COMMUNICATION WORK
From 2023 to 2025, communication efforts by all levels of the Farmers’ Union have been prioritized, with numerous innovations, particularly in the application of information technology and digital transformation. Communication content has been planned on a monthly and quarterly basis, closely aligned with the Party’s orientations, State policies and laws, and ongoing emulation movements. Provincewide, more than 23,700 communication sessions have been organized, attracting nearly 839,700 participants through a variety of dynamic and engaging formats. These activities have helped raise farmers’ awareness, strengthen trust in the Union, and enhance consensus and active participation in emulation movements. Farmers’ Unions at all levels have strengthened their presence at the grassroots, staying closely connected with members and focusing on reforming the content of branch and group meetings. New models such as thematic meetings, Zalo group meetings, professional branches and groups, field workshops, and study tours have been effectively implemented. Communication efforts have been digitized through various social media platforms, including Facebook, fan pages, Zalo, YouTube, TikTok, the Vietnam Farmers’ Digital Platform, and online portals. Numerous models, such as the Good Production and Business Farmers Club, Farmers and the Law Club, Agricultural Science and Technology Club, and the Billionaire Farmers Club, have attracted members, delivered positive messages, and contributed to the Union’s emulation movements.
The Union has organized a wide range of services and support activities for farmers, including financial assistance, coordination in providing fertilizers and seedlings, scientific and technical guidance, vocational training, job counseling, brand development, and supply–demand matchmaking. Trade fairs have also been held to promote, introduce, and market agricultural products, as well as to honor outstanding local products.
In particular, Farmers’ Unions at all levels have actively mobilized capital for the Farmers’ Support Fund and worked to enhance the effective use of the fund. As of November 2025, the provincial fund totaled nearly 311.6 billion VND, with outstanding loans reaching almost 259 billion VND, benefiting almost 6,000 households and around 1,300 household group projects.
Over the years, capital from the Farmers’ Support Fund has been utilized for its intended purposes, yielding significant benefits to members and farmers. Le Thi No from Song Ray Commune shared: “In previous years, plunging pepper prices caused great hardship. My family, along with many other farming households in the area, received loans from the Farmers’ Support Fund to invest in automatic irrigation systems and purchase materials to maintain our pepper gardens during challenging times of loss. In addition to access to funding, the Farmers’ Union also supported us by organizing training sessions to improve our scientific and technical knowledge and share valuable production experience. Thanks to this, the loans were used effectively and for the right purposes.”
Dong Nai currently has more than 30,800 farmers who have received support in creating accounts on major e-commerce platforms. Over 331 agricultural products from the province have been listed and promoted on reputable platforms, including Postmart, Lazada, Tiki, Shopee, and ecdn.vn.
During a working visit to Dong Nai in 2024, Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union Phan Nhu Nguyen commended the Dong Nai Farmers' Union for its creativity and dedication, which have strengthened the Union’s role and contributed significantly to local socio-economic development. Notably, in social welfare, the Union has mobilized substantial resources to support disadvantaged farmers and effectively participated in building new-style rural areas.
ACCOMPANY WITH FARMERS IN AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
From 2023 to 2025, the province’s farmer union admitted nearly 10,300 new members, bringing total membership to almost 193,000. Beyond increasing numbers, Farmers’ Unions at all levels have supported farmers in asserting their central role in agricultural and rural economic development.
Unions at all levels have continued to modernize their operations by establishing professional branches and groups within the Farmers' Union. Many of these models have transitioned from small-scale production to cooperative group models, attracting an increasing number of farmers to participate in them.
At the same time, Farmers’ Unions at all levels have strengthened coordination to organize specialized training courses and promote the application of high technology; science and technology transfer activities reached over 9,200 members. Additionally, 150 field workshops and training sessions were conducted across the province for nearly 3,500 participants. A total of 105 conferences were organized to disseminate and enhance knowledge on digital transformation in agriculture for almost 12,600 officials and union members.
Notably, 11 training sessions were held to equip 1,100 farmers with skills in listing products on e-commerce platforms and techniques for livestream sales. Furthermore, 2,200 outstanding farmers engaged in production and business received advanced training to improve their knowledge, qualifications, and practical skills. Many of them later became directors of cooperatives and agricultural enterprises.
Each year, the Provincial Farmers’ Union partners with the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to organize the “Excellent Farmers Applying Scientific and Technological Advances in Agriculture” competition. Between 2023 and 2025, 45 awards were presented.
Promoting and marketing agricultural products has also been a central task that has been vigorously implemented. The Provincial Farmers’ Union has led e-commerce application efforts, livestreamed product promotions, and facilitated MoUs between producers, cooperatives, and distribution networks.
According to Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Chairman of the Dong Nai Farmers’ Union Nguyen Huu Nguyen, in the current context of deep international integration and globalization, the adoption of digital, high-tech, and innovative technologies is not only an inevitable trend but also a critical requirement for Dong Nai’s agricultural sector to boost productivity, improve product quality, and overcome stringent trade barriers.
The Union places strong emphasis on promoting and disseminating effective digital technology application models to outstanding farming households and cooperative groups across the province. Unions at all levels are also stepping up efforts to support and connect officials, members, and key farmers, enabling them to engage in learning and experience-sharing activities related to digital transformation in agriculture. These include digital platforms for production management, traceability systems, and digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency for agricultural enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities.
