Welcoming and congratulating two Dong Nai Vovinam athletes on winning gold at the 2025 World Championships

The Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center held a ceremony to welcome and congratulate two athletes from the Dong Nai Vovinam team following their gold medal victories at the 2025 World Championships.

On the evening of November 8, the Dong Nai Vovinam team, including coach Huynh Minh Hai and two athletes, Thi Lai and Nguyen Manh Phi, arrived at Tan Son Nhat Airport after competing successfully with the Vietnam Vovinam team at the 8th WVVF World Vovinam Championships 2025, held from November 1 to 8 in Buleleng, Bali, Indonesia.

At the Vovinam World Championships, both Dong Nai Vovinam athletes, Thi Lai and Nguyen Manh Phi, excelled by winning gold medals in their respective events, contributing to the Vietnam Vovinam team’s total of 24 gold medals and securing the top position in the overall standings.

In detail, athlete Thi Lai won the women’s 63kg combat gold medal by knocking out her opponent, Kartika Dewi of Indonesia, in the final after just 30 seconds. Meanwhile, athlete Nguyen Manh Phi secured Dong Nai’s second gold medal by helping the men’s sword team win the championship in the team performance event - Tinh Hoa Luong Nghi Kiem Phap.
