On the afternoon of November 11, the preparatory session of the 1st Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Congress for the 2025–2030 term took place at the Provincial Conference Centre in Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai Province. The session was attended by 310 official delegates representing nearly 972,000 women across the province.

Attending the session were Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union; Le Thi Thai, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilisation; Le Thi Thanh Loan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Dong Nai Province, and President of the Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Union; and Truong Thi Kim Hue, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training.

Also in attendance were Thai Ngoc Bao Tram, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice President of the VFF Committee of Dong Thap province, and President of the Dong Thap Women’s Union; Ha Thi Giang Thao, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice President of the VFF Committee of Gia Lai province, and President of the Gia Lai Women’s Union; and Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice President of the VFF Committee of Quang Tri province, and President of the Quang Tri Women’s Union, along with representatives from women’s unions of other provinces and cities nationwide that have undergone organisational restructuring and mergers.
In addition to its in-person program, the 1st Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Congress was also connected online to 13 locations across the country.

During the session, delegates elected the Presidium, the Secretariat, and the Delegate Credentials Verification Committee; and approved the agenda, working regulations, and rules of the congress. The congress also adopted the consolidated report on opinions to the draft documents of the 14th National Women’s Congress, the draft amended and supplemented Charter of the Union, and the draft documents of the 1st Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Congress for the 2025–2030 term.

At the congress, delegates were divided into three discussion groups. The first group was chaired by Le Thi Thanh Loan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice President of the VFF Committee of Dong Nai Province, and President of the Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Union. It focused on solutions for renewing the implementation of the movement “Building the Vietnamese Women of the New Era”, associated with the local campaign “Dong Nai Women Speak Well, Do Good Deeds” and the program: “Building Families of Five Nos and Three Cleans”.

Delegates also discussed solutions for implementing two breakthroughs: promoting digital transformation within the organisation, and supporting women to enhance digital capacity as well as fostering innovative, start-up-oriented economic development among women. Proposals were also made regarding the three sets of specific targets concerning participation in socio-economic development, building families and communities in a digital cultural environment, and strengthening the Union’s organisational structure.

The second discussion group, chaired by Bui Thi Hanh, Vice President of the Dong Nai Women’s Union, focused on developing comprehensive women of Dong Nai in the new era, renewing activities that support women in building prosperous, happy, progressive, and civilised families, and creating safe environments for women and children. Delegates also discussed strengthening the role of Women’s Union chapters in enhancing women’s economic empowerment and mobilising society to promote gender equality and women’s advancement.

The third discussion group, co-chaired by Dinh Thi Thu Ha and Le Thi Van Anh, both Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women’s Union and Deputy Heads of the Provincial Women’s Affairs Committee, centred its discussions on enhancing the Union’s role in building a clean and strong Party and political system, participating in state management, and strengthening the great national unity bloc. The group also discussed developing membership and building a professional, robust Women’s Union, while promoting the active role of women and the Union in people-to-people diplomacy.

Based on the opinions shared across the discussion groups, the group chairs requested the Secretariat to compile all ideas and prepare a report to present at the official session of the congress, which takes place on the morning of November 12.
