According to the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, Project 996 has been implemented since 2018. Over the past seven years, the project has brought about significant improvements in measurement activities nationwide. Measurement infrastructure has been dramatically enhanced, with thousands of standard devices and measuring instruments invested in by ministries, sectors, local authorities, and businesses.
In Dong Nai province, the Department of Science and Technology reports that the system of measurement standards has received considerable investment, while the inspection and calibration network continues to expand. Business awareness of the importance of measurement has improved markedly, with many enterprises receiving support through inspection services to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance. Regular professional training in measurement is also being organized.
Notably, to effectively implement the decentralized management mechanism for standards, metrology, and quality under the two-tier local administration model, the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology has organized numerous training sessions to enhance the skills and professional competence of officials at the commune and ward levels across the province.
At the conference, leaders from the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, along with representatives from several provincial Departments of Science and Technology, discussed and outlined key tasks and strategies for the coming period to strengthen measurement activities and help businesses enhance competitiveness and integrate internationally.
