Lac Hong University supports communities affected by natural disasters

In recent days, prolonged rains and flooding in the Central and Central Highlands regions have caused severe damage to homes, infrastructure, and the economy. In an effort to support affected communities alongside provincial authorities and departments, Lac Hong University has launched a fundraising campaign to assist staff, lecturers, employees, and students currently working or studying at the university whose families have been impacted by the storms and floods.

Dang Dai Hung, Chairman of the Trade Union at Lac Hong University, stated that according to the university’s statistics, to date, the whole university has more than 200 lecturers, staff, and students with families in the Central and Central Highlands regions affected by the storms and floods. Among them, one student has lost both parents.

In response to this situation, Lac Hong University launched a fundraising program among its staff, lecturers, employees, and students. In recent days, in addition to providing moral support, the university has promptly assisted six lecturers and staff members whose families were affected by the storms and floods, with each support package valued at 5 million VND.

In addition, the university plans to provide 2 million VND to each student whose families in the Central and Central Highlands regions were severely affected by the storms and floods. For student Phan Tan Phu from the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, the university has provided 15 million VND and waived all remaining tuition fees, helping Phu overcome difficulties and gain motivation to continue his studies.

Beyond supporting lecturers, staff, and students with families in provinces severely affected by the storms and floods, Lac Hong University is also collecting essential goods, notebooks, and school supplies. The university plans to organize a delegation to visit Dak Lak province in late November.
