C.P. Vietnam plants 5 hectares of new mangrove forest

C.P. Vietnam Corporation (C.P. Vietnam), based in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Dong Nai Province, has coordinated with the Forest Management Board under the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long Province to launch a project to plant 5 hectares of new mangrove forest in Thoi Thuan Commune, Vinh Long Province.

The event was attended by representatives from the Forest Management Board, local authorities, relevant agencies, and more than 50 volunteers from C.P. Vietnam branches across the region.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in expanding the project “C.P. Vietnam – Journey for a green Vietnam”, initiating the planting of 5 hectares of new mangrove forest in Vinh Long. The project includes a care and development plan for the forest over the 2025–2029 period.

The initiative aims to restore and develop coastal ecosystems, creating a natural “green shield” to prevent erosion, protect dikes, infrastructure, and the livelihoods of coastal communities. It also seeks to provide habitats for aquatic species and contribute to climate change adaptation.

During the ceremony, delegates and volunteers planted white mangrove trees, marking a new phase in the journey to green Vietnam’s landscape. Beyond a simple tree-planting activity, the program spread a spirit of community responsibility and environmental awareness among all participants.

Since 2021, C.P. Vietnam has worked with Vinh Long Province to plant, manage, and regenerate 55 hectares of protective forest, as well as over 31,200 scattered trees. The year 2025 will mark a significant milestone as the completion of the company’s goal to plant one million trees in communities across six provinces, as part of the “C.P. Vietnam – Journey for a green Vietnam” project.

This achievement is the result of collective efforts by businesses, local authorities, and residents, united in the pursuit of a greener, more sustainable, and prosperous Vietnam.

In Dong Nai Province, C.P. Vietnam has also partnered with the Long Thanh Protective Forest Management Board to plant and care for 10 hectares of mangrove forest. Through these afforestation initiatives, C.P. Vietnam aims to contribute to environmental protection, restore mangrove ecosystems, and promote a future where humans and nature coexist in harmony.
