Amid the dynamic transformation of the supporting industry, Dong Nai is emerging as a strategic destination for Japanese businesses. At the heart of this cooperative network is the Dong Nai Supporting Industry Development Promotion Coordinators Group (Coordinators Group) - a flexible and proactive connection model that is increasingly demonstrating its influence through tangible results.
Not limited to the provincial scope, the Coordinators Group has recently expanded its surveys to neighboring localities and has been working directly with Japanese businesses in Dong Nai’s industrial parks. While these visits may seem like routine capability assessments, they are, in fact, strategic explorations aimed at building trust, fostering mutual understanding, and laying the groundwork for long-term cooperation between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises.
Steps taken to expand the “range of connection”
During a recent survey, a working delegation of the Coordinators Group worked directly with two businesses in Thoi An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, including Thinh Phat Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd. and Vietlabel Production and Trading Joint Stock Company. These companies represent two distinct facets of Vietnam’s supporting industry: one embodies high technology, while the other reflects the innovative spirit of the generation of young entrepreneurs.

The Deputy Director of Thinh Phat Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd., Pham Anh Tuyen, shared: “We always strive to meet Japanese standards. However, as a small and medium-sized enterprise, finding our own market is very challenging. The support from Dong Nai and promotion organizations acts as an ‘extended arm’ that helps us reach the right Japanese clients - those who value stability and standards above all else.”

The Coordinators Group assessed Thinh Phat as one of the companies with strong potential to quickly integrate into the Japanese supply chain when connected to the right direction and aligned with the right demands.
For Vietlabel Trading Production Joint Stock Company, the working group recognized a very different spirit: enthusiasm, perseverance and strong aspiration for development of a young business after the pandemic. Vietlabel maintains its core team, builds a stable corporate culture and is entering a period of strong development.

Pham Tuan Thien, CEO of Vietlabel, stated: “We are preparing to expand our factory into an industrial park, aiming for export and access to the Japanese market. What Vietlabel needs most right now is guidance on factory standards, processes, and management according to Japanese norms. This survey trip helps us clearly identify the areas that need upgrading to integrate more deeply.”
These remarks reflect a broader reality: young enterprises are striving to ‘standardize’ themselves to meet international benchmarks, and the Coordinators’ Group serves as an essential companion by providing information, advice, connections, and opening doors for Vietnamese companies to get closer to the Japanese market.

Alongside its surveys in Ho Chi Minh City, the Coordinators Group also worked with a Japanese company located in Long Duc Industrial Park, Dong Nai Province - Takashima Metal Precision Vietnam Co., Ltd., which specializes in manufacturing JIS-standard screws, CNC machining, cold stamping, hot forging, and other metal components.

At this company, Yamamoto Ryo, Director of Takashima, stated that the company is increasing its localization rate and seeks capable Vietnamese suppliers to reduce logistics costs, secure materials, and accelerate production. “We inspect 100% of our products before shipment. Therefore, finding suppliers in Vietnam that meet Japanese standards is a top priority for the near future,” he added.
The survey also helped the province gain a clearer understanding of the challenges faced by FDI enterprises, from recruiting skilled labor to the costs of imported components, enabling the development of more practical support solutions.
Strengthening the Vietnam-Japan cooperation bridge
Not only conducting surveys at local enterprises, Dong Nai is also actively preparing for the 2025 conference on trade connection between Vietnamese and Japanese businesses on November 21, 2025, and the Dong Nai - Ehime (Japan) Trade Exchange Conference scheduled to take place in January 2026.
During a recent reception for the Ehime delegation, Nguyen Kim Long, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee, emphasized: “Dong Nai hopes Ehime will promote strategic industries signed since 2018, such as supporting industries, semiconductors, aviation, electronic equipment, and smart technology transfer.”
The Ehime side affirmed that Dong Nai is increasingly drawing the interest of Japanese businesses, particularly in the industrial manufacturing sector.
Not only attracting strong attention from Ehime Prefecture, Dong Nai has also made a significant impression on regional Japanese economic agencies, particularly the Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI-Kansai) - one of Japan’s largest and most influential industrial hubs.
Morishita Tsuyoshi, Deputy Director of METI-Kansai, praised Dong Nai’s efforts in proactively and effectively connecting the supporting industry to meet the needs of Japanese businesses. He affirmed: “Kansai highly appreciates Dong Nai’s efforts in building a transparent and professional supporting industry ecosystem. The province’s initiative in surveying enterprises and listening to the needs of both Vietnamese and Japanese sides demonstrates an approach that aligns with Japanese business expectations.”
Morishita Tsuyoshi believes that Dong Nai is forming a replicable cooperation model by harmoniously combining the capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises, the needs of Japanese businesses, and the effective connecting role of the Coordinators’ Group. This further affirms Dong Nai’s increasingly prominent position in Vietnam-Japan cooperation and opens up prospects for deeper connections in the supporting industry sector.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Huu Duc, Deputy Head of the Coordinators’ Group, stated: “We connect to create real value. Each enterprise surveyed is an important link in completing the Vietnam-Japan supply chain in Dong Nai.”

From the field surveys to preparations for the upcoming Vietnam-Japan business conferences, it is evident that Dong Nai is steadfastly pursuing a clear cooperation strategy: expanding the partner ecosystem for Japanese enterprises while elevating Vietnamese businesses to participate in global supply chains. On this foundation, the province focuses on building a transparent, standardized, and sustainable cooperative environment that meets the expectations of international investors.
The quiet but effective efforts of the Coordinators Group are helping to affirm Dong Nai’s position as a dynamic supporting industry hub in the southern Vietnam. With a methodical approach and strong determination, Dong Nai not only attracts investment but also creates an environment where Vietnamese and Japanese businesses can collaborate, enhancing their capabilities and value in the regional market.
The Dong Nai Supporting Industry Development Promotion Coordinators Group, established in May 2019 following the Japanese model, serves as a “bridge” between Japanese enterprises and businesses and training institutions in the province. The Group regularly conducts surveys, meetings, and demand-matching activities to promote effective cooperation in the supporting industry sector.
From the beginning of 2025 to the present, the group has worked with over 30 Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises in Dong Nai and neighboring areas, fostering various cooperation models such as “supply - technology transfer - product acquisition.” Vietnamese companies are supported in upgrading their processes to meet Japanese standards, while Japanese companies receive transparent information, introductions to suitable partners, and assistance in resolving investment obstacles.
