According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway project has generated nearly 370,000 cubic meters of construction stone beyond the volume previously allocated by the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee.

Specifically, Component Project 1 is short by approximately 230,000 cubic meters of material. Meanwhile, Component Project 2 requires an additional 138,000 cubic meters of various types of stone, including crushed stone, fine aggregate, cement concrete stone, and asphalt concrete stone.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment has worked with project investors and quarry operators to finalize the volume, specifications, timeline, and supply plan for construction materials. The department has also assisted quarry owners in resolving legal and equipment-related issues to ensure increased production capacity and material supply for ongoing projects. This endeavor is considered a key factor in ensuring the project’s progress.

In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has proposed that the Provincial People’s Committee issue directives on how to handle the additional material volume that exceeds the previously allocated amount. It has also urged investors and contractors to proactively coordinate with quarry operators to reach agreements and develop detailed plans for material supply in the coming period.

Previously, based on material demand reports from project investors and contractors, the Provincial People’s Committee had held multiple meetings with quarry owners to agree on the allocation of construction material sources. Most of the required volumes have already been distributed, with contracts signed and material deliveries proceeding according to project timelines and quantities.

The Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway is one of the key infrastructure projects currently being implemented in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City. The project is expected to be technically opened to traffic this December. It plays a crucial role in reducing congestion on National Highway 51, promoting regional socio-economic development, shortening travel times, and enhancing connectivity between Dong Nai and neighboring provinces and cities.
