About VND 2.9 billion for flood-control project in Cau Quan Stream area

On November 17, the Dong Nai Provincial Agriculture and Environment Fund reported that the provincial People’s Committee has approved the use of fund resources to support the Phuoc Tan Ward People’s Committee in dredging, clearing, and opening the Cau Quan Stream. The work aims to improve water drainage and limit waterlogging caused by natural disasters.

The provincial People’s Committee has approved the project titled Dredging, Clearing, and Restoring the Cau Quan Stream in Phuoc Tan Ward to improve water drainage and limit waterlogging. The project has a budget of 2.9 billion VND from the Dong Nai Provincial Agriculture and Environment Fund (Disaster Prevention Fund) and is scheduled for 2025 and 2026.

The provincial leaders have tasked the Department of Agriculture and Environment with taking the lead, in coordination with the Department of Construction, the Department of Finance and other relevant units, in guiding the Phuoc Tan Ward People's Committee on procedures for formulating, appraising and approving the project and the cost estimates for dredging, clearing vegetation and unclogging Cau Quan Stream, with a view to improving drainage capacity and reducing waterlogging caused by natural disasters in the area, in accordance with legal regulations. The department is also responsible for inspecting the implementation of these tasks and for settling and finalizing the project funding.

The Phuoc Tan Ward People’s Committee is implementing the dredging, clearing, and restoration of the Cau Quan Stream in accordance with public investment regulations and other relevant laws. The project is designed to enhance water drainage, mitigate waterlogging, and minimize damage from natural disasters, thereby ensuring the safety of property, crops, and residents in the area.

In addition, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee has instructed relevant departments, agencies, local authorities, and units to implement the project promptly. Difficulties or obstacles encountered during implementation should be reported directly to the Chair of the Provincial People’s Committee for timely review and resolution.
