Over the two-day event (October 7-8), 120 trainees, including commune-level officials, civil servants, and public employees from 55 communes and wards (clusters of communes and wards belonging to former Dong Nai Province), listened to a series of thematic presentations delivered by experts from the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, the provincial Public Security, and the Academy of Politics Region II.
The topics center around guidelines on protecting state secrets; solutions to enhance the effectiveness of state-secret protection in the fields of ethnicity, belief and religion in the current context; characteristics and ethnic relations in Vietnam; the Party’s viewpoints and the State’s policies and laws on ethnic and religious affairs; State management practices concerning Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism.
The organising board also addressed several practical issues raised by participants regarding their duties in ethnic, belief, and religious affairs under the two-tier local government model.
