The Friendship Culture and Sports Week 2025 opens in Dong Nai province

On October 30, the Dong Nai provincial Union of Friendship Organizations held the opening ceremony of the Dong Nai Friendship Culture and Sports Week 2025 at the Dong Nai Provincial Convention Center in Tan Trieu ward.

Attending the ceremony were provincial leaders including Thai Bao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission; Tran Trung Nhan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission; Nguyen Thi Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and Nguyen Tan Phu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies, as well as former members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee.

The event was attended by Consuls General, Acting Consuls General, and Consuls from Laos, Cuba, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, China, and Japan, as well as representatives of foreign non-governmental organizations, international associations, and foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises.

In her opening remarks, Nguyen Thi Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, welcomed delegates to the event and highlighted Dong Nai as a province rich in historical traditions, dynamic in socio-economic development, and committed to expanding international friendship and cooperation. She emphasized that in recent years, the province has strengthened cultural, sports, and people-to-people diplomacy, fostering mutual understanding and friendship between the residents of Dong Nai and international partners.

The 2025 Dong Nai Friendship Culture and Sports Week serves as an opportunity to celebrate the positive outcomes of cooperation between Dong Nai and international organizations, localities, and partners, while introducing to domestic and foreign friends the image of a dynamic, friendly, and warm-hearted Dong Nai, promoting the message: “Dong Nai - A friendly, cooperative, and developing destination.”

At the opening ceremony, foreign NGOs, international associations, and FDI enterprises presented social welfare sponsorship plaques totaling nearly 4 billion VND to local schools, agencies, and communities in Dong Nai.

According to Nguyen Thanh Tri, Chairman of the Dong Nai provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, the event runs from October 30 to November 3, 2025, with a variety of cultural, sports, and diplomatic activities.

Activities held for public participation during the Culture and Sports Friendship Week 2025 in Dong Nai province include: an exhibition of images of countries, held from October 30 to November 3, 2025, at the Dong Nai Provincial Conference Center; planting of Friendship Trees at Tran Bien Temple of Literature and sports exchanges at the Provincial Sports Hall, scheduled from October 30 to 31; the 6th Dong Nai Friendship Melody Festival slated for October 31 at the Dong Nai Provincial Conference Center; and cultural and sports exchanges between the Consuls General of foreign countries in Ho Chi Minh City and the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations, scheduled on November 1 at Lac Hong University.

In addition, specialized professional and diplomatic activities will be held, including a Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Exchange (on November 2 at Buu Long Tourist Area) and a training session on global and regional issues and the Party’s policies on people-to-people diplomacy (on November 3 at Dong Nai Provincial Convention Center and Buu Long Tourist Area).

Alongside the main program, a series of social welfare activities will take place, such as the construction commencement of 10 Friendship Houses in Bu Gia Map commune, the handover of a Friendship House in Binh Loc ward, and the donation of 100 wheelchairs to support persons with disabilities and healthcare facilities.
