In recent times, the agriculture and environment sector has implemented digital transformation in state management through several key initiatives: processing and storing 100% of documents, work records, and administrative procedures electronically; completing core databases, including data on crop cultivation, land, environment, water resources, forest monitoring, and crop mapping; integrating sector data into the province’s centralized data platform; and applying the Internet of Things (IoT) technology for pest monitoring, early warning of forest fires, and forecasting weather and natural disasters.
Additionally, the sector has leveraged artificial intelligence to analyze and forecast the quality of the environment, water resources, land, and air. It has implemented digital mapping projects for cultivation areas and agricultural product traceability, supporting the management of clean, safe, and transparent agricultural value chains. Digital transformation content has been incorporated into training and capacity-building programs for cadres, civil servants, and public employees. Cooperation has expanded with institutes, schools, and technology enterprises. Social resources have been mobilized to develop infrastructure, data, and digital transformation solutions.

For the 2025-2026 period, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has identified several key tasks, including completing investment in information technology infrastructure for the sector; developing databases for crop cultivation and environmental management; and implementing crop mapping along with mobile applications for data access.
The department also plans to establish an early forest fire detection camera system, automated pest monitoring stations, and an intelligent environmental warning system. Artificial intelligence will be applied to analyze environmental monitoring data and issue early pollution alerts in key areas. Additionally, the department aims to fully digitalize all public services within the agricultural sector.
