Over 1.4 billion VND received for cancer screening and gift-giving program for women in border areas

On October 16, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Dong Nai province held a ceremony to receive contributions from businesses and business associations in support of a cervical cancer screening and early detection program, as well as a gift-giving initiative for women living in border communes. The program is jointly organized by the VFF Committee of Dong Nai province and its coordinating partners.

As part of the program, Nguyen Tan Phu, Vice Chairman of the VFF Committee of Dong Nai province, and Do Thi Nguyen, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Health, received donations including four cervical screening machines and gifts valued at over 1.16 billion VND from NTD AI Healthcare Joint Stock Company; 250 million VND (equivalent to 500 gift packages) from Binh Tay Food Joint Stock Company; and 60 million VND from the Entrepreneurs for Community Fund under the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association to support the construction of great solidarity houses.

Nguyen Tan Phu, Vice Chairman of the VFF Committee of Dong Nai province, extended his sincere thanks to the businesses and business associations for their generous support of the cervical cancer screening and early detection program, as well as the gift-giving initiative for women in border communes.

Immediately after receiving the equipment and donations, the VFF Committee of Dong Nai province handed them over to the Department of Health to prepare for program implementation.

Do Thi Nguyen, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Health, stated that in recent years, the VFF Committee of Dong Nai province has actively supported the health sector in mobilizing social resources to care for public health and improve the quality of primary healthcare services, particularly in border communes and remote, underserved areas.

Right after receiving the equipment and donations, the Department of Health will organize training sessions for local healthcare staff and coordinate with relevant units to conduct medical screenings and distribute gifts to 500 women aged 21 to 65 in four communes: Thien Hung, Hung Phuoc, Tan Tien, and Loc Tan.
