Ensuring supply-demand balance of essential goods

The Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has enacted Plan No. 119/KH-UBND to guarantee adequate supplies of essential goods. The initiative aims to prevent shortages during the 2026 Lunar New Year festivities and to strengthen provincial resilience against potential natural disasters or disease outbreaks, with measures effective until the end of September 2026.

The plan aims to balance the supply and demand of essential goods as part of broader efforts to maintain social welfare, particularly during year-end months, holidays, Tet, and in potential emergencies such as natural disasters or epidemics. Its primary goal is to meet the needs of locals for essential commodities.

The plan prioritizes domestically produced goods that meet quality and food safety standards, are reasonably priced, and have an ample supply to help balance supply and demand, thereby meeting consumer needs in Dong Nai, including during market fluctuations.

A central goal of the plan is to promote the development and diversification of retail networks, ensuring that essential goods are delivered to consumers efficiently and conveniently. The strategy places particular emphasis on expanding retail points in traditional markets, industrial zones, worker accommodations, and remote areas across the province. It also calls for broadening the product groups and sales locations associated with the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign. At the same time, the plan aims to strengthen inter-provincial cooperation in investment, trade connectivity, and in enhancing product quality and productivity to support market expansion.

The supply-demand balance will be managed for 11 essential product groups: rice, pork, poultry, eggs, seafood, vegetables and fruits, packaged instant foods, canned processed foods, spices, condiments, and cooking oil.
