Dong Nai ranks fourth at 2025 National Bodybuilding Championship

The Dong Nai bodybuilding team concluded the 2025 National Bodybuilding Championship in fourth place overall, earning 3 gold medals.

On the evening of October 12, at Rach Mieu Gymnasium in Cau Kieu Ward, the 2025 National Bodybuilding Championship, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation, officially concluded.

On the final day of the contest, the Dong Nai Bodybuilding team won 2 more bronze medals (BMs) and finished the tournament with a record of 3 gold medals (GMs), 5 silver medals (SMs), and 5 BMs. With this result, Dong Nai ranked fourth overall, second in the women's team event, behind HCMC, and fourth in the men's team event.

After Pham Dung Yen Linh's GM in the women's Athletic Physique over 165cm on the first day, Dong Nai Bodybuilding won 2 more GMs in the mixed doubles Bodybuilding event in the following days, totaling 3 GMs. The pair Pham Thi My Thuan - Le Van Tuan won the GM in mixed doubles Bodybuilding up to 49kg, and Ta Thi Ngoc Bich - Pham Ngoc Sy won the GM in mixed doubles Bodybuilding up to 52kg. Among them, the GM in the mixed doubles Bodybuilding event was the only GM won by world champion Ta Thi Ngoc Bich at this year's tournament. Ngoc Bich also won 2 SMs (Women's Athletic Physique up to 165cm and Women's Fitness up to 165cm) after losing to Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (HCMC) in both categories.

The remaining 3 SMs for Dong Nai were in the following categories: Men's Bodybuilding up to 55kg (Ho Cong Hoai Long), Men's Athletic Physique up to 175cm (Pham Ngoc Sy), Women's Bodybuilding up to 49kg (Pham Thi My Thuan).

In the overall team standings, host HCMC ranked first overall with 8 GMs, 10 SMs, 10 BMs; HCMC 2 ranked second with 8 GMs but only 3 SMs, 3 BMs, and third place went to An Giang province (4 GMs, 5 SMs, 1 BM).

This year's tournament took place from October 9 to 12, attracting nearly 150 athletes from 13 units, provinces, and cities nationwide to compete in 33 categories, including: Men's Bodybuilding (9 weight classes), women's Bodybuilding (4 weight classes), mixed doubles Bodybuilding (4 weight classes), absolute Bodybuilding championship (men's and women's all-around), men's and women's classic Bodybuilding (8 weight classes), and men's and women's fitness (6 events).
