Dong Nai Journalists win second prize at 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards

On October 24, the Ministry of Science and Technology presented the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards to 24 outstanding works. A team from Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television proudly received the Second Prize.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the award serves as recognition of authors who have written about science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The winning works comprehensively reflect various aspects of scientific and technological activities, innovation, and digital transformation, addressing urgent, common, and practical issues in socio-economic life. Many entries are of high quality, featuring timely, in-depth coverage of the achievements and developments in the field of science and technolog.

Since 2024, nearly 200 individual and group submissions have been entered into the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards. The Ministry of Science and Technology recognized 24 outstanding journalistic works, including four First Prizes, five Second Prizes, five Third Prizes, and ten Consolation Prizes. Journalists Xuan Luong and Ba Loi from Dong Nai Newspaper & Radio, Television were awarded a Second Prize in the television category for their report “Applying Technology to Protect National Forests.”

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the award not only honors outstanding journalistic works but also provides an opportunity to look back on the journey so far and reaffirm the significant role of journalism in the nation’s development, especially as science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are becoming strategic pillars for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that science and technology journalism not only reflects achievements but also contributes to policy review and public discourse by raising significant questions for society to collectively address. The Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to create favorable conditions for media organizations, ranging from support for research, technology application, and digital transformation to the provision of official scientific data, while strengthening coordination to ensure that science and technology journalism truly becomes a core force in communicating the nation’s science and technology progress.
