On the morning of October 12, at the Dong Nai Arts Theater in Tran Bien ward, the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony for the 2025 Dong Nai Province Shuffle Dance and Sports Folk Dance Championship.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Khac Vinh, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that the 2025 Dong Nai Province Shuffle Dance and Sports Folk Dance Championship was held to promote and develop shuffle dance and sports folk dance movements in particular, while encouraging the public to participate in regular physical exercise in general to enhance health, physical strength, stature, and prevent diseases within the community.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Khac Vinh, also expressed his hope that clubs, organizations, individuals, and businesses will continue to invest in these activities so that the province’s shuffle dance and fitness dance movements can develop further.

This year’s tournament is held over a single day, drawing 680 athletes from 35 units representing communes and wards throughout the province, showcasing a total of 95 performances. The teams competed in the following categories: shuffle dance, sport folk dance, and modern dance (category of five-member groups); shuffle dance, traditional folk dance, and modern dance (category of nine-member groups); and shuffle dance, traditional folk dance, and modern dance (free category).

At the opening ceremony, the organizers called on the heads of delegations, coaches, and athletes of the participating units to unite in assisting those in the provinces impacted by storms and floods to overcome their challenges. The funds collected would be transferred to the Dong Nai Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
The organizers will award gold, silver, and bronze medals to athletes who achieve first, second, and third places in the team events (five-member and nine-member groups), while trophies will be presented to the teams placing first, second, and third in the group category (free number of members).
