More than 200 athletes from 16 teams across the country are competing in the 2025 National Jujitsu Elite Athletes Championship, held in Dong Nai province from October 17 to 24.

On October 19, at the Indoor Sports Arena of the Dong Nai Sports Training and Competition Center, the Vietnam Sports Administration (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), in coordination with the Vietnam Jujitsu Federation and the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, officially held the opening ceremony for the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, expressed the province’s pride in hosting the event: It is a great honor for the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to be entrusted by the Vietnam Sports Administration and approved by the Dong Nai People’s Committee to host such a large-scale, high-quality national tournament. The event gathers over 200 outstanding athletes from 16 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide, competing for 76 sets of medals.
The 2025 National Jujitsu Elite Athletes Championship is an essential opportunity for athletes to gain competitive experience and improve their professional skills. Moreover, the tournament serves as a vital platform for identifying top talent to represent Vietnam in upcoming international competitions. Beyond the sporting significance, Loan also highlighted that the event offers a chance for Dong Nai province to showcase its economic and social achievements, tourism potential, and the warmth and hospitality of its people.

Speaking at the event, Tran Van Thach, Head of Jujitsu at the Vietnam Sports Administration, emphasized: This championship brings together the highest-caliber athletes in Vietnamese Jujitsu. Through this event, the Organizing Committee aims to identify new talents and the most outstanding competitors to form a strong national squad for key international tournaments in 2026. Our ultimate goal is to secure prestigious medals in the upcoming competitive season.

The 2025 National Jujitsu Elite Athletes Championship officially kicked off on October 17 and will run until October 24 at the indoor arena of the Dong Nai Sports Training and Competition Center. The tournament features competition across 76 medal events in the following categories: Newaza Gi, Newaza NoGi, Fighting, Contact, Duo Show/Classic (performance).

At the conclusion of the championship, the Organizing Committee will present gold, silver, and bronze medals, along with certificates, to athletes who place in each weight class and event. Athletes may also be promoted in classification according to national regulations. Team flags for first, second, and third place overall will be awarded based on the total medal count.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the competition began with the Fighting category matches.
