The delegation visited a high-tech melon cultivation model in Trang Tao Hamlet, Xuan Thanh Commune. The model was first implemented in 2021, with three farming households participating in a pilot project on a total area of 1 hectare. Since then, Trang Tao Hamlet has expanded net-house melon cultivation to 27 hectares, with around 100 households investing. Farmers have applied high-tech methods in production, including net-house systems, automated water-saving irrigation, and substrate-based melon cultivation.

The working delegation also visited and surveyed Viet Rau Joint Stock Company in Phuoc Thai commune. This enterprise has 100% Swiss investment capital, currently investing 8 hectares of net houses for growing leafy vegetables, fruit vegetables, and spices. On average, each year, the enterprise exports about 5 thousand tons of vegetables to the Swiss market. The enterprise is planning to cooperate with farmers and many other partners to expand the area of high-tech vegetable cultivation in net houses for export to the European market.

This enterprise is applying high-tech models such as: hydroponic vegetable cultivation, vegetable cultivation on substrate, application of an automatic irrigation system, vegetable cultivation meeting GlobalGAP standards, investment in a clean water filtration system for irrigating vegetables...

Developing high-tech agriculture is one of the breakthrough tasks set out in the Resolution of the 11th Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress for the 2020–2025 term. In recent years, localities across the province have launched various programs to promote and attract investment in high-tech agricultural development. To date, the province has implemented 419 high-tech agricultural models and established eight high-tech agricultural zones, covering a total area of nearly 1,600 hectares.
